Product Description

A Modern Custom Shop Classic

This isn’t just another Strat. This is a Fender Custom Shop American Custom Stratocaster, a masterbuilt blend of coveted vintage specs and modern player enhancements. From the moment you pick it up, the resonance of the 2-piece ash body is apparent, brought to life in a stunning Ebony Transparent NOS finish. It’s a guitar that feels both familiar and excitingly new, crafted for the discerning player who wants timeless tone with contemporary feel.

Vintage Voice, Modern Versatility

The heart of this Strat’s tone comes from a trio of hand-wound ’69 Underwound single-coils. These pickups deliver that iconic, glassy ’60s chime and bell-like clarity, but with a touch more sparkle and articulation. The real magic, however, lies in the Fat 50’s ½ Blend wiring. This intuitive control scheme lets you blend the neck pickup into positions one and two, unlocking those sought-after Tele-style bridge-and-neck tones or even all three pickups at once. It’s a subtle but powerful tool that dramatically expands your sonic palette.

Unrivaled Playability

Fender’s Custom Shop didn’t stop at the tone. The neck is a piece of art in itself, crafted from AAA roasted flame maple for incredible stability and a smooth, broken-in feel. It’s carved into a comfortable ’65 Strat “C” profile that feels just right. Paired with a compound 9.5”-12.0” radius AAA rosewood fingerboard and 21 medium jumbo stainless steel frets, you get the best of both worlds: comfortable chording down low and effortless, choke-free bending up high. The modern Elite heel contour provides easy access to the upper frets, making this a true player’s instrument through and through.

Rock-Solid Custom Shop Hardware

Every piece of hardware is top-tier, chosen for performance and reliability. The RSD Stratocaster bridge offers a vintage look with modern performance enhancements, including improved pivot geometry for smoother tremolo action and excellent tuning stability. Combined with vintage-style Fender logo tuners and a bone nut, this guitar is built to be played hard, night after night, staying in tune and delivering flawless performance.

Anatomy of a Tone Machine

Playing Feel

  • A perfectly balanced ash body that feels comfortable and resonant against your own.
  • The '65 "C" neck profile combined with a compound radius and stainless steel frets offers a buttery, fast-playing experience.

  • The clarity of the underwound pickups makes it an exceptional platform for pedals of all kinds.
  • Records like a dream, sitting perfectly in a mix with a timeless voice that needs little to no EQ.
  • The ½ blend control unlocks new sonic ground, making it adaptable to nearly any musical situation.

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

It’s a clever circuit that gives you more tonal options than a standard Strat. The second tone knob becomes a blender. When you’re in the bridge position, you can roll in the neck pickup to get a full, Tele-style tone. In position two (bridge and middle), you can blend in the neck pickup to have all three pickups on at once for a unique, thick single-coil sound. It’s a fantastic mod for players who want more versatility without adding extra switches.
A compound radius gives you the best of both worlds. The fingerboard is rounder near the nut (9.5″), which makes it more comfortable for playing chords and rhythm parts. As you move up the neck, the radius flattens out (to 12.0″), which is ideal for soloing. It allows for lower action and makes big string bends easier without the notes ‘fretting out’ or choking.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 72-Hour Love-It Guarantee. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
Orders ship same day in most cases and arrive within 1-4 business days with free, insured shipping. We’ll get it into your hands as quickly as we can.
