Product Description

Vintage Soul, Modern Fire

This isn’t just another Strat. This is a semi-hollow beast with a voice that’s airy and resonant, blended with the kind of Texas-sized heat that’ll peel paint off the walls. The Fender Custom Shop Postmodern Stratocaster is where classic design gets a high-octane upgrade. Finished in a gorgeous Aged Shell Pink nitro, it feels like a guitar that’s been loved and played for decades, but with a modern edge that’s ready for any stage.

The semi-hollow sassafras body gives it a unique acoustic bloom and cuts down on weight, making it a joy to play all night long. Paired with a quartersawn maple neck rocking a supremely comfortable ’60s Oval “C” profile and a compound radius rosewood board, this guitar is built for speed and comfort. It’s the kind of instrument that feels like an old friend from the first chord.

Diabolical Tones

At the heart of this Strat are three hand-wound El Diablo pickups. These things are wound for extra power and punch, delivering a fiery, aggressive tone that pushes an amp into sweet overdrive with ease. They have a fat, snarling quality that’s perfect for searing leads and chunky rhythms, yet they clean up beautifully with a twist of the volume knob. The bridge pickup features Fender’s Greasebucket™ tone circuit, letting you roll off highs without adding any low-end mud, keeping your sound tight and defined even with heavy gain.

Modern Playability, Classic Vibe

Every detail of this Postmodern Strat is designed for the player. The 9.5″ to 12″ compound radius fingerboard allows for effortless bending high up the neck without fretting out, while the vintage-style RSD Stratocaster tremolo provides smooth action and reliable tuning stability. From the Closet Classic aging to the contoured neck heel, this guitar combines the best of old-school Fender mojo with the precision and performance of a modern instrument.

Anatomy of a Tone Machine

Anatomy of a Tone Machine

Perfect for: Blues • Rock • Funk • Alternative

Tone

  • Bridge pickup is aggressive and punchy, with a tight low end thanks to the Greasebucket circuit.
  • Neck pickup offers warm, clear tones with a semi-hollow airiness that's great for leads and clean chords.
  • In-between positions are glassy and articulate, perfect for funk and rhythm playing.
  • The sassafras body provides a warm, balanced tone with a rich midrange and clear highs.

Playing Feel

  • Lightweight and resonant due to the semi-hollow sassafras body, making it comfortable for long gigs.
  • The '60s Oval "C" neck profile is a perfect medium, while the compound radius board makes both chording and soloing effortless.
  • Extremely responsive to playing dynamics; it can whisper or scream depending on your pick attack.
  • The Closet Classic nitro finish on the neck feels smooth and broken-in, never sticky.

Versatility

  • Goes from glassy cleans to fiery overdrive with just the volume knob.
  • The high-output pickups love pedals, providing a great platform for dirt, modulation, and time-based effects.
  • The unique semi-hollow resonance adds a beautiful character to recorded tracks.
  • Cuts through a mix with authority, but the Greasebucket circuit helps tame any harshness.

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

It adds a wonderful acoustic-like resonance and airiness to the tone. You get more bloom and a slightly softer attack, but the El Diablo pickups ensure it still has all the punch and power you’d expect from a high-end Strat. It’s a fantastic blend of classic chime and hollowbody warmth.
Absolutely. While they’re definitely hotter than vintage Strat pickups, they are surprisingly versatile. They clean up very nicely when you roll back the volume, and the RWRP middle pickup gives you those classic, hum-cancelling ‘quack’ tones in positions 2 and 4 that are perfect for funk, pop, and blues.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 72-Hour Love-It Guarantee. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
