Carr Amplifiers

Steve Carr, founder of Carr Amplifiers, believes that amplifiers should be considered as much of an instrument as the guitars that are plugged into them. Carr’s line of retro-chic boutique amps are a perfect platform for building your signature sound. These amps are point-to-point wired using all premium components, and Carr amplifiers’ unique circuit designs are presented with a simple user interface – very few knobs to tweak, but a wealth of tones can be created with each model.

The entire Carr line is built around low-wattage amps, but from the 3 Watt Raleigh, to the 44 Watt Impala, the sounds produced are astounding. Steve Carr has revived the tones of the finest amps from the 40’s, 50’s, and 60’s in these hand-wired works of art. From rich, glassy clean tones to lush, overdriven sustain, Carr amps will make you fall in love with tubes all over again.

One of Carr’s innovations is building variable power attenuators directly into their amps, allowing for true power tube overdrive at the volume level of your choice. And, Carr offers a variety of power tube options in their amps – EL84, 6V6 and 6L6.

You’ll hear the incredible sounds of Carr Amplifiers on recordings from Eric Johnson, Keith Richards, John Fogerty, Billy Gibbons, Vince Gill, and many other top guitarists. Yes, Carr Amps may look like they’d be at home in Elvis’ backline, but the tones they produce are the sounds of today. Find out for yourself why Premier Guitar has referred to Carr amp sounds as "the tone of the gods." Moore Guitars is proud to offer Carr Amplifiers to our customers.
