Big Martin Dreadnought Voice, Built To Go Anywhere

If you want that classic Martin dread rumble without babying an all-solid guitar, the D-X2E Brazilian Rosewood hits a very sweet spot. Big, loud, and warm where it counts, with modern playability and a tough-as-nails HPL body that can handle real life.

Iconic Dreadnought Punch With Strong Bass

This is Martin’s legendary D-14 fret dreadnought silhouette, so you get that familiar wall of sound: bold lows, clear mids, and enough volume to hold its own in a mix. Strum it hard and it barks, back off and it responds with a sweet, even glow that works for fingerstyle, flatpicking, and everything in between.

The X-braced, scalloped spruce top is the engine here. Spruce braces and a 5/16″ pattern keep it responsive and lively, so chords bloom and single notes cut without getting harsh.

Spruce Top Sparkle, Brazilian Rosewood HPL Durability

Up top you get a satin spruce soundboard that feels smooth and broken in, with a single-ring abalone pattern rosette adding just the right amount of flash. The hand-rubbed satin finish keeps it resonant and glare free under stage lights.

Out back, the Brazilian rosewood HPL delivers the look of high-end rosewood with way more stability. It is resistant to dings, humidity swings, and the abuse that comes with gigs, travel, and life. You get that classic Martin vibe without freaking out every time the weather changes.

Comfortable Neck And Player-Focused Fingerboard

The select hardwood neck with Martin’s PA profile and High-Performance taper feels fast but substantial. It fills your hand enough for solid chords, yet stays sleek up high for leads and capo work.

The thinner fingerboard with a gently beveled comfort edge is one of those details you notice around the second set. It makes long sessions easier on your fretting hand, and the refined string spacing keeps fingerstyle clean while still feeling natural for big cowboy chords.

Plug In And Go With Martin E-1 Electronics

When it is time to hit the PA, the onboard Martin E-1 system keeps things simple and musical. You get a built-in chromatic tuner, plus volume, tone, and phase controls right where you need them.

Roll in a bit of tone for sparkle, use the phase switch to tame feedback on stage, and you are ready for anything from solo coffeehouse sets to full band worship rigs. No external preamp required, just plug in and play.

Stage-Ready Setup, Plek’d And Protected

This guitar comes Plek’d for precise fretwork, which means clean notes, smooth slides, and low, buzz-free action when it is set up right. We take it from there with our free pro setup, dialing in your preferred string gauge and action so it feels like home from the first chord.

This specific D-X2E, serial number 2951806 (our internal ID 806), is in our Evansville shop right now, inspected three times and ready to ship with its included softshell case. Financing is available, and we are happy to talk trades if you have gear to move.

Photos are of the actual guitar, so what you see is exactly what shows up at your door.

The Lowdown

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

Real talk: the spruce top is where most of your tone comes from, and that is exactly what Martin is giving you here. The Brazilian rosewood HPL back and sides deliver the classic rosewood look while being way more resistant to dings, cracks, and humidity swings than traditional solid wood. You get a loud, punchy dread with strong bass, plus a body you do not have to baby every time the weather changes.
This D-X2E works for both. If you are stepping up from an entry-level acoustic, you will notice the louder, fuller sound and way better playability immediately. If you are already gigging or leading worship, the modern neck, onboard electronics, and rugged HPL construction make it a killer workhorse you can haul to rehearsals, camps, and stages without worry.
A Plek machine is a high-end tool that measures and dresses the frets under simulated string tension. In plain English, it helps ensure the fretwork is incredibly consistent, so you can run lower action with fewer dead spots and less buzzing. Combine that with our Player-Perfect setup and you get a guitar that feels dialed in the minute you pull it from the case.
Yes. This Martin D-X2E Brazilian Rosewood ships with a Martin softshell case included. It is a solid grab-and-go solution for rehearsals, gigs, and travel, and we pack it carefully so it is ready to play when it lands at your door.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 14-Day Return Policy. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
If you order before 3 PM CST on a weekday, it ships the same day. We’ll get it into your hands fast with free, insured 2-3 day shipping.
Call us at (888) 794-8482. You’ll talk to a real musician who can answer anything you need to know.
