Product Description

Vintage Vibe, Modern Playability

Meet the Martin 000-10E Retro—a guitar that delivers that classic, time-tested Martin tone with the comfort and playability modern musicians demand. It’s built around the supremely comfortable 000-14 Fret body size, making it a perfect fit for just about any player. The solid Spruce top, treated with an aging toner for a vintage look, is the engine of this guitar’s sound, providing clarity, punch, and dynamic headroom. Paired with solid Sapele back and sides, you get a voice that’s balanced, warm, and focused—perfect for cutting through a mix without getting boomy.

The Heart of the Tone

Beneath the hood, Martin’s scalloped X-bracing allows the top to resonate freely, creating a responsive feel that blooms with every note. Whether you’re a delicate fingerpicker or a moderate strummer, the 000-10E Retro captures the nuance in your playing. The Sapele body contributes a strong midrange character, often compared to mahogany, ensuring your sound is always present and articulate. It’s a tonal recipe that has been loved for generations, and for good reason.

Effortless Playability

Martin knows a great guitar has to feel as good as it sounds. The select hardwood neck features their popular Performing Artist (PA) profile with a High-Performance Taper—a combination designed for speed and comfort. Combined with a shorter 24.9″ scale length, string tension is slightly reduced, making bends feel buttery and long playing sessions a breeze. The hand-applied finish ensures the neck feels smooth and broken-in from the very first chord.

Stage-Ready Electronics

When you’re ready to plug in, the onboard Martin E1 electronics deliver a clear, natural-sounding amplification of the guitar’s acoustic voice. The system includes a built-in chromatic tuner, volume, and tone controls, making it easy to dial in your sound on any stage. It’s a reliable, no-fuss electronic system that makes the 000-10E Retro a true workhorse for the gigging musician.

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

They’re very similar, but Sapele tends to have a slightly brighter top end and a bit more sparkle. It shares that same strong, punchy midrange that makes Mahogany so popular, making it a fantastic alternative that’s both tonally rich and sustainable.
The shorter scale length reduces the tension on the strings, which has two great benefits. First, it makes the strings feel a bit slinkier and easier to bend. Second, it makes fretting notes and chords feel a little more effortless, which is great for players with smaller hands or anyone who plays for long sessions.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 14-Day Return Policy. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
If you order before 3 PM CST on a weekday, it ships the same day. We’ll get it into your hands fast with free, insured 2-3 day shipping.
