Product Description

The Vibe of a ’57 Without the Vintage Price Tag

If you’re chasing that holy grail, late-50s Les Paul tone but don’t have a vintage budget, this Epiphone “Inspired by Gibson” 1957 Goldtop Reissue is your ticket. We’re talking real-deal Gibson USA Custombuckers, period-correct construction, and a stunning Double Gold finish that delivers the authentic feel of a rock and roll icon without the anxiety of gigging a priceless museum piece.

The Classic Recipe for Legendary Tone

The foundation of rock is here, a solid mahogany body capped with carved maple. This timeless combination serves up thick, resonant lows and singing mids, while the top end shimmers without ever getting harsh. The single-ply cream binding and Vintage Gloss Double Gold finish look absolutely killer under stage lights.

A Neck That Feels Like Coming Home

The one-piece mahogany neck features a 50s Rounded Medium C profile that just feels right. It’s substantial enough to really dig in for big bends and wide vibrato, but it’s not a baseball bat. The long neck tenon ensures that every bit of string vibration is transferred deep into the body, making the entire guitar feel alive and resonant in your hands. A buttery, bound rosewood fingerboard with a 12-inch radius and 22 medium-jumbo frets makes for effortless playability all the way up the neck.

The Heart of the Beast: Real Gibson Custombuckers

Here’s what truly sets this guitar apart: a pair of genuine USA Gibson Custombucker humbuckers. Loaded with Alnico 3 magnets, these pickups deliver the airy, articulate, and dynamic PAF-style tone that players have been chasing for decades. The neck pickup is warm and syrupy, perfect for glassy cleans and fluid lead lines. The bridge pickup has a tight low end and a vocal midrange bite that cuts right through a dense mix without getting muddy. The signal path is kept pure with top-shelf components, including CTS pots and Bumblebee paper-in-oil capacitors. Roll the volume back for a sweet, articulate chime, or crank it up and let it roar.

Dialed In and Ready to Rip

From the Gibson-style “open book” headstock to the nickel-plated ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and aluminum stop-bar tailpiece, every detail screams vintage authenticity. But modern appointments like a Graph Tech nut and reliable Epiphone Deluxe tuners mean you get all the old-school vibe without the tuning headaches. This specific guitar (serial 24121531236) has been through our rigorous three-part inspection and given our Player Perfect™ setup. It’s strung with 10-46s and plays like a dream right out of its historic-inspired hardshell case. With free insured shipping, you can buy with total confidence. This is your chance to own a real-deal ’57 Goldtop experience.

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

Incredibly close. These are the same pickups used in many Gibson Custom Shop guitars. They have that open, airy quality, complex midrange, and touch sensitivity that true PAF lovers are after. They clean up beautifully and have a vocal-like quality when you dig in, it’s the real deal.
While it’s definitely a handful compared to a slim-taper neck, the ’50s Rounded Medium C profile is surprisingly comfortable. It’s more of a supportive ‘C’ shape than a massive ‘U’ or ‘V’. It fills the palm nicely and many players find it actually reduces hand fatigue during long gigs.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 14-Day Return Policy. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
Orders ship same day in most cases and arrive within 1-4 business days with free, insured shipping. We’ll get it into your hands as quickly as we can.
