Product Description

Big Tone, Travel-Sized Footprint

Don’t let the compact size fool you—the Taylor GS Mini-e Koa Plus is a tone machine with a massive voice. This is the ultimate travel companion that punches way above its weight, delivering the kind of rich, complex sound you’d expect from a full-size guitar. Built with a solid Hawaiian Koa top and layered Koa back and sides, it’s a visual stunner that sounds even better than it looks. The matte finish lets the wood breathe and gives it a warm, organic feel right out of the case.

Solid Koa Top—Tone That Opens Up

At the heart of the GS Mini-e Koa Plus is that solid Hawaiian Koa top. Tonally, Koa starts out bright and focused, with a crispness that cuts through a mix. But the real magic happens over time. The more you play it, the more the midrange blooms, adding warmth and depth for a truly personal sound. It’s a guitar that grows with you.

GS Mini Shape—Comfort and Power

The scaled-down Grand Symphony body shape is incredibly comfortable to hold and play, whether you’re on the couch or on the stage. The 23-1/2″ scale length makes fretting chords and bending strings feel almost effortless, reducing string tension for a slinky, buttery feel. It’s the perfect blend of portability and robust acoustic projection.

Expression System® 2—Natural Plugged-In Sound

When you’re ready to plug in, Taylor’s revolutionary Expression System® 2 electronics capture all the nuance of the guitar’s natural voice. The behind-the-saddle pickup design delivers a warmer, more dynamic amplified tone that’s incredibly responsive to your playing style. It’s a pro-level electronic system in a go-anywhere package.

  • Perfect for long writing sessions or gigs where comfort is key.

Versatility

  • Excels in both intimate acoustic settings and amplified stage performances.

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

Koa is awesome because it combines the best of both worlds. When it’s new, it has a bright, clear top end like maple. But as you play it, the midrange opens up and gets warmer and richer, like mahogany. Plus, the figuring is just gorgeous. It’s a tonewood that really develops a personality with the player.
That shorter scale is key to the GS Mini’s charm. It lowers the string tension, which makes it feel much easier on your fretting hand—chords are easier to form and string bends feel slinkier. Tonally, it produces a slightly warmer, rounder note than a full-scale guitar, which contributes to its surprisingly rich voice for its size.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 14-Day Return Policy. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
If you order before 3 PM CST on a weekday, it ships the same day. We’ll get it into your hands fast with free, insured 2-3 day shipping.
