The Grand Pacific Koa You Keep In The Family

This is not just another high end Taylor. This Custom Grand Pacific Catch 37 is master grade Hawaiian koa from top to tail, voiced by Andy Powers V Class design and built in a run of only twelve for the entire world. The one you see here, serial 1205040035, is the exact guitar you will be holding.

We hand picked this Catch piece as an authorized Taylor Showroom dealer in Evansville, Indiana. It is the kind of guitar you buy once, play for a lifetime and then hand down to the next generation.

Master Grade Hawaiian Koa From Top To Tail

Top, back and sides are all master grade Hawaiian koa, the top of the top. The figuring has serious depth and flame, with that lighter sapwood running down the center like a stripe of honey, perfectly book matched.

A thin clear gloss lets the wood move and breathe instead of choking it under heavy finish, so the guitar feels alive in your hands. Flamed maple binding frames the koa like a picture and the chamfered body edges keep it comfortable against your picking arm for long sessions.

The Grand Pacific Voice With V Class Power

The Grand Pacific body is Taylors fresh take on the slope shoulder dreadnought vibe. You get that round, broken in low end you know from classic records, but without the woof or mud that can bury your vocal.

V Class bracing is the secret sauce here. Notes have piano like fundamental, chords ring in tune all the way up the neck, and the whole guitar has a long, even sustain that just blooms. Strum big Americana chords, pick out lines or play delicate fingerstyle and it all sits in a mix effortlessly.

Ebony Feel, Island And Tropical Vine Inlays

West African ebony on both the fingerboard and bridge gives you that glassy smooth feel under your fingers and rock solid transfer of energy from string to top. Vibrato, slides and hammer ons feel buttery and precise.

The Tropical Vine inlay down the board and Island Vine on the peghead use koa and gold mother of pearl so the whole instrument ties together visually. They catch the light on stage without ever feeling gaudy, just tasteful art level detail you will keep noticing years in.

Gotoh Luxury Gold Tuners For Precise Tuning

Gotoh Luxury gold tuners with a 21 to 1 ratio give you surgical control over tuning. Drop into alternate tunings or sneak your low E a couple cents without overshooting, then trust it to stay put through a set.

Paired with Taylors build quality and ebony bridge, tuning stability is a non issue. Real talk, you will spend more time playing and less time chasing the pitch.

Catch 37 – One Of Twelve For The World

Catch guitars are the ultra limited builds Taylor unveils to their top dealers at a private NAMM event. They decide on a number for each spec, build that many and that is it no reruns, no second chances.

Only twelve of these master grade koa Grand Pacifics exist, and this particular configuration is one of just two. Pictures and audio on this page are of this exact guitar, serial 1205040035. It is in our Evansville shop right now with a free Player Perfect setup included, ready to ship to the one player who gets it before it is gone.

The Lowdown

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

Catch guitars are the ultra limited instruments Taylor reveals to their top dealers at a private NAMM event called The Catch. For each spec they decide on a number, build exactly that many and never repeat it. This Grand Pacific is part of Catch 37, built in a run of only twelve master grade koa guitars for the entire world. It is essentially a custom shop level one off that regular production buyers will never see.
Only twelve of these master grade koa Grand Pacific Catch 37 guitars were built. Within that small run, this exact configuration is one of just two, and you are looking at serial 1205040035. When it leaves our shop, that is it for this spec. If you want a Taylor that almost no one else on the planet will ever own, this is it.
V Class bracing changes how the top flexes so you get more sustain and better intonation at the same time. Chords ring sweeter and more in tune up the neck, and notes have a longer, more even bloom instead of dying off early. You will notice it when you strum big open chords, when you record with a mic and when you play up past the 7th fret. It is one of those things you cannot unhear once you have felt it under your hands.
Yes. Pictures and audio are of this actual Catch 37 Grand Pacific, serial 1205040035, hanging in our Evansville shop. We want you to know exactly what the sapwood stripe, flame and voice look and sound like before you buy. What you see and hear is what shows up at your door.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 72-Hour Love-It Guarantee. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
If you order before 3 PM CST on a weekday, it ships the same day. We’ll get it into your hands fast with free, insured 2-3 day shipping.
Call us at (888) 794-8482. You’ll talk to a real musician who can answer anything you need to know.
