Product Description

A Modern Workhorse, Good as New

This isn’t just another acoustic on the wall—it’s a pre-owned Taylor 314ce that’s practically untouched. We’re talking mint condition, with the plastic still on the pickguard. This is your chance to get the voice and feel of Taylor’s celebrated Grand Auditorium—an absolute workhorse for any style—at a value you won’t see every day. It’s got that classic Taylor clarity and playability, supercharged with modern innovations that make it a truly inspiring instrument for the stage, studio, or couch.

Torrefied Top & V-Class Bracing

The magic starts with the tonewoods. Taylor paired a solid Sapele body—known for its punchy midrange and warmth akin to mahogany—with a torrefied Sitka spruce top. “Torrefied” is just a fancy way of saying they’ve roasted the wood, giving it the dry, responsive, and harmonically rich character of a vintage, well-played guitar right out of the box. Driving that top is Taylor’s revolutionary V-Class bracing. This internal architecture does two things incredibly well: it increases both volume and sustain, creating a sound that’s powerful, dynamic, and rings for days. Forget the old trade-off between power and sustain; V-Class gives you more of everything.

Effortless Playability & Natural Electronics

Every player knows that a great guitar should feel like an extension of your hands, and this 314ce delivers. The Grand Auditorium body is the perfect middle ground—big enough to move air for strumming, yet contoured and comfortable for fingerstyle. The slim-profile mahogany neck has a smooth satin finish that feels fast and familiar, while the 1-11/16″ nut width provides comfortable fretting for chords and single-note lines alike. When it’s time to plug in, the onboard Expression System 2 (ES2) electronics capture the guitar’s true acoustic voice with stunning accuracy. Its behind-the-saddle pickup design translates all the nuance and dynamic range of your playing, giving you a warm, natural tone that’s ready for any PA system or interface.

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

It means the top has been thermally treated—or roasted—to remove moisture and cure the wood, accelerating the aging process. The result is the sound of a well-loved, vintage guitar from the first strum. You get more responsiveness, a warmer midrange, and a beautifully open, resonant character that normally takes decades to develop.
Think of the Grand Auditorium as the ultimate all-rounder. It has a narrower waist than a dreadnought, which tightens up the bass and makes the tone more balanced across the board. It’s incredibly responsive to fingerstyle playing but still has the horsepower for strumming, making it one of the most versatile body shapes you can get.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 14-Day Return Policy. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
If you order before 3 PM CST on a weekday, it ships the same day. We’ll get it into your hands fast with free, insured 2-3 day shipping.
