Product Description

The Perfect Blend of Playability, Tone, and Style

Meet the Taylor 114ce Special Edition, a Grand Auditorium that punches way above its weight class. Dressed in a stunning Dark Tobacco Shaded Edgeburst finish, this guitar doesn’t just look the part; it sounds it, too. Taylor paired a solid torrefied spruce top with layered sapele back and sides, a classic combination that delivers a rich, balanced voice with impressive projection and clarity. The special roasting process for the top adds a touch of vintage warmth and responsiveness right out of the box. It’s a do-it-all acoustic that feels like an old friend from the first strum.

Engineered for Performance

Under the hood, Taylor’s C-Class bracing enhances the low-end response, giving this guitar a surprising amount of power and sustain for its size. This innovative architecture boosts the volume and keeps the intonation pure all the way up the neck. Combined with the legendary playability of Taylor’s standard carve neck profile, you get a buttery-smooth playing experience that makes complex chords and fast runs feel effortless. The Venetian cutaway offers complete access to the upper frets, perfect for lead lines and adventurous chording.

Stage-Ready Electronics

When you’re ready to plug in, the onboard Expression System® 2 (ES2) electronics capture the guitar’s natural acoustic voice with stunning accuracy. The behind-the-saddle pickup design translates every nuance of your playing, from aggressive strumming to delicate fingerpicking, into a warm, dynamic amplified tone. Whether you’re playing a coffee shop gig or leading worship on a Sunday morning, the 114ce SE is ready to deliver professional-grade sound without any fuss.

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

Torrefaction is a special roasting process that ages the wood, giving it the warm, responsive, and open character of a vintage guitar. It makes the 114ce Special Edition sound incredibly rich and dynamic right from day one, with a sweeter voice than a standard spruce top.
C-Class bracing is a variation of V-Class, adapted for the smaller Grand Auditorium body. It provides a similar boost in volume and sustain while specifically enhancing the low-end frequencies, giving the 114ce a surprisingly powerful and warm bass response for its size.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 14-Day Return Policy. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
Orders ship same day in most cases and arrive within 1-4 business days with free, insured shipping. We’ll get it into your hands as quickly as we can.
