Product Description

Shred-Ready PRS with a Serious Sonic Upgrade

This isn’t your average SE Custom 24. This pre-owned 2014 model in its stunning Amethyst finish has been hot-rodded for pure performance, combining the legendary playability of a PRS with the rock-solid stability of a Floyd Rose and a boutique pickup upgrade. It’s a player’s guitar, through and through—built for technical precision and roaring tone.

Seymour Duncan Powerhouse

The stock pickups have been swapped for a calibrated set of Seymour Duncan’s finest: a Pegasus in the bridge and a Sentient in the neck. The Pegasus serves up a harmonically rich, articulate, and punchy tone that’s perfect for progressive metal and complex chord work under high gain. It has a tight low end and a prominent midrange, ensuring you cut through any mix. The Sentient in the neck is the perfect counterpart, offering glassy cleans and fluid, articulate lead tones that sound like a beautiful hybrid of a ’59 and a Jazz model. Together—and with a push/pull coil-split on the tone knob—this set delivers a massive range of tones from brutal chugging to crystalline cleans.

Floyd Rose 1000 Series Bridge

For those who demand absolute tuning stability, the factory-installed Floyd Rose 1000 Series tremolo is a game-changer. Built with the same high-quality materials as the original German-made Floyds, this double-locking system lets you dive-bomb, flutter, and pull up with total confidence. It’s a professional-grade bridge that transforms this Custom 24 into a high-performance machine.

Effortless Playability

The foundation of this guitar’s incredible feel is the PRS Wide Thin neck profile. It’s a modern D-shape that’s slim enough for lightning-fast runs without feeling like a toothpick—a perfect middle ground for players who find vintage necks too chunky but super-skinny necks uncomfortable. Paired with 24 frets and a comfortable 25″ scale length, this neck is built for speed and comfort.

Anatomy of a Tone Machine

Anatomy of a Tone Machine

Perfect for: Modern Metal • Progressive Rock • Shred • Hard Rock

Tone

  • Bridge: Articulate, punchy, and balanced with a fast attack—perfect for prog-metal riffing and clear, blooming chords under gain.
  • Neck: Harmonically rich with glassy, fluid, and sparkly clean tones. Delivers liquid-smooth lead lines under distortion.
  • Middle: The combination is clear, powerful, and chunky, blending the best of both pickups for versatile rhythm work.
  • Coil-Split: The push/pull tone pot unlocks spanky, single-coil tones, adding another layer of versatility for clean and lower-gain styles.

Playing Feel

  • Well-balanced mahogany body feels substantial but not overly heavy.
  • The Wide Thin neck profile is fast and comfortable, ideal for both technical players and those who prefer a slimmer, modern feel.
  • Responds instantly to aggressive picking, but cleans up beautifully when you roll back the volume.
  • Effortless to play for hours, whether you're shredding on stage or working out complex passages in the studio.

Versatility

  • Excels at high-gain modern metal but offers stunning, articulate cleans, especially from the neck pickup.
  • The pickup clarity makes it a fantastic platform for pedals, handling complex modulation, delay, and reverb without turning to mud.
  • A studio weapon—the coil-split and versatile pickup set can cover a huge range of electric guitar sounds.
  • Cuts through a dense mix with ease thanks to the mid-focused bridge pickup and clear neck pickup.

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

This Pegasus/Sentient set is a significant upgrade over the original stock pickups, especially for modern rock and metal. It offers much greater clarity, articulation, and harmonic complexity, particularly under high gain. They’re professional-grade pickups designed for progressive and technical styles.
It’s incredibly stable. The Floyd Rose 1000 Series is made in Korea using the same design and high-quality steel as the original German models. It’s a double-locking system, meaning the strings are locked at the bridge and the nut, providing maximum tuning stability even with heavy tremolo use.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 14-Day Return Policy. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
If you order before 3 PM CST on a weekday, it ships the same day. We’ll get it into your hands fast with free, insured 2-3 day shipping.
