Archtop Soul, Modern Playability
Meet the PRS JA-15, a guitar born from a collaboration with the legendary session ace Paul Jackson, Jr. This isn’t your grandfather’s bulky jazz box—this is a finely tuned instrument that blends the airy resonance of a hollowbody with the comfortable, high-performance feel PRS is known for. The foundation of its voice is the classic combination of a carved Spruce top with a Curly Maple back and Mahogany sides. This trio of tonewoods delivers a sound that is harmonically rich, warm, and dynamically responsive, with a beautiful acoustic presence that blooms with every note.
Vintage Voice: The 57/08 Pickups
The heart of this JA-15 is its set of PRS 57/08 humbuckers. Crafted with the same wire and winding machine that created the legendary PAFs of the 50s, these pickups are all about vintage character. They offer incredible clarity and a vocal-like midrange, cleaning up beautifully for complex jazz chords and snarling with authentic grit when you dig in. Whether you’re chasing glassy clean tones or buttery blues-rock saturation, the 57/08s deliver with articulation and soul.
Effortless Feel, Rock-Solid Hardware
The guitar’s playability is pure PRS. The Curly Maple neck is carved into the acclaimed “Pattern” profile—a substantial, comfortable shape reminiscent of vintage C-necks that feels instantly familiar. It’s paired with a slick, bound Ebony fingerboard adorned with those iconic Mother of Pearl and Paua Heart Bird inlays. Down at the body, the PRS 2-Piece Adjustable Bridge provides rock-solid intonation and enhances the guitar’s natural sustain, while Phase III Locking Tuners ensure you stay in tune through the longest sessions. Finished in a gorgeous Antique White, this JA-15 is a versatile workhorse with undeniable class.
