Little Martin Size, Surprisingly Big Voice

Photos are of the actual guitar, so what you see is exactly what shows up at your door. The Martin LXK2 Little Martin might be the smallest guitar in the lineup, but it delivers way more tone and vibe than its footprint suggests.

Whether you are traveling, kicking back on the couch, or putting a young player on the right path, this LXK2 gives you that familiar Martin warmth in a compact, ultra tough package.

Compact Little Martin Body That Feels Effortless

The Modified 0-14 Fret body hits that sweet spot between comfortable and capable. It is small enough to tuck into a car seat, overhead bin, or kid’s hands, yet it still pushes out a focused, musical voice that does not sound like a toy.

The short 23 inch scale and 1 11/16 inch nut keep the string tension slinky and forgiving. Chords are easier to grab, stretches feel friendlier, and smaller hands will feel right at home.

Durable Figured Koa HPL Built For Real Life

The figured koa pattern HPL top, back, and sides give you the look of exotic wood with a level of durability that laughs at dings, temperature swings, and rough travel. Toss it in the car, take it to the campfire, or leave it on a stand without babying it.

Inside, the X-Brace with non scalloped spruce braces and 5/16 inch sizing keeps the top stable and the tone clear and focused. You get a punchy midrange, tight lows, and a crisp top end that cuts through a room of conversation.

Comfortable Neck And Sustainable Components

The natural birch laminate neck with a Modified Low Oval carve and Standard Taper feels smooth and familiar. The hand rubbed finish keeps it fast and non sticky, so you never feel like you are fighting the guitar during long sessions.

FSC Certified Richlite is used for both the fingerboard and bridge, giving you an eco conscious build that still feels solid and precise under your fingers. White side dots keep you oriented on dark stages or dim living rooms, and the chrome enclosed tuners lock in tuning without fuss.

Perfect For Travel, Couch Sessions, And Campfires

This LXK2 is a pure acoustic with no onboard electronics, so what you are hearing is all guitar. It is ideal for songwriting, student practice, and late night couch playing where you want inspiring tone without a wall of volume.

The lightweight 3.4 pound build and included soft gig bag make it a grab and go companion. Real talk, if you have ever hesitated to take your full size acoustic out into the world, this is the one that actually goes with you.

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

The LXK2 feels closer to a small parlor or travel guitar than a full size dreadnought. The Modified 0-14 Fret body and short 23 inch scale keep it compact and easy to manage, especially for smaller players or tight spaces. It is big enough to sound like a real instrument, but small enough that you will actually take it with you.
HPL (High Pressure Laminate) is Martin’s super durable body material that wears hard and shrugs off dings and humidity changes better than many solid wood guitars. The figured koa pattern gives it a classy look, while the X-bracing and spruce braces make sure it still has that clear, musical Martin voice. It is a smart choice when you want real tone without worrying about every little bump.
Absolutely. The short 23 inch scale, 1 11/16 inch nut, and lightweight 3.4 lb body make this a very friendly guitar for younger players, smaller hands, or anyone who finds full size acoustics uncomfortable. It is easy to fret, easy to hold, and the tone is inspiring enough that they will want to keep playing.
This LXK2 is a pure acoustic with no built in pickup, but that does not keep it off the stage or out of the studio. For live use you can mic it up or add an external pickup system later if you decide you need to plug in. In the studio, it records nicely with a simple microphone setup and sits well in a mix without a lot of EQ.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we will dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 14-Day Return Policy. If you are not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We will make it right.
If you order before 3 PM CST on a weekday, it ships the same day. We will get it into your hands fast with free, insured 2 to 3 day shipping.
