Product Description

The Gold Standard of Tone—Literally

There are few guitars as iconic as the ’57 Les Paul Goldtop. It’s a legend, a benchmark, the sound of countless records that defined rock and blues. This pre-owned 2025 Custom Shop ’57 Reissue isn’t just a tribute—it’s a painstakingly accurate recreation of the real deal, built with the passion and precision that only Gibson’s top builders can deliver. From the hide glue construction to the unpotted Custombuckers, every detail is obsessed over to give you the authentic experience of a priceless vintage instrument.

This one is in excellent condition, showing all the glory of its Double Gold VOS finish. The Vintage Patina treatment gives it the subtle sheen and feel of a guitar that’s been lovingly played for decades, without the heavy wear and tear. It feels alive in your hands, resonant and ready to sing.

Authentic Vintage Growl

The heart of this Les Paul is its pair of unpotted Custombucker Alnico III pickups. These are Gibson’s most historically accurate PAF replicas, and they deliver the goods. They’re warm, rich, and incredibly articulate, cleaning up with glassy clarity when you roll back the volume and blooming into fat, harmonic-rich overdrive when you dig in. The paper-in-oil capacitors and CTS pots complete the vintage-correct signal path, ensuring every ounce of that woody, resonant tone makes it to your amp.

The ’57 Feel

A great Les Paul feels like an extension of your body, and this one is no exception. The 1-piece lightweight mahogany body provides the warmth and sustain you expect, while the 2-piece plain maple top adds the snap and clarity that makes this design so versatile. The neck is a chunky but comfortable ’50s Rounded Medium C profile—a substantial feel that gives you something to really grab onto for big bends and soulful vibrato. Combined with the historic narrow/tall frets and 12″ radius Indian Rosewood fingerboard, it’s a buttery-smooth playing experience that feels right at home from the first chord.

Built Like They Used To

The Custom Shop’s commitment to vintage accuracy is on full display here. Key features like the long neck tenon and hide glue fit for the neck and top aren’t just for show—they create a stronger, more resonant bond between the parts of the guitar, maximizing sustain and acoustic energy. Add in the lightweight aluminum stop bar tailpiece and no-wire ABR-1 bridge, and you have a guitar that rings like a bell and sustains for days.

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

VOS stands for ‘Vintage Original Spec.’ It’s not a heavy relic or aging process. Instead, the finish is treated to have the slight sheen of a vintage guitar that’s been well-cared-for but played, and the nickel hardware has a gently aged, slightly duller look. It feels less like a brand new, glossy guitar and more like a beautifully preserved classic from the 50s.
Unpotted pickups, like the Custombucker Alnico IIIs in this guitar, aren’t dipped in wax to solidify the coil windings. This makes them more microphonic and sensitive to vibrations, which sounds like a bad thing but is key to that authentic PAF character. You get more complex overtones, a more ‘open’ and airy sound, and an incredible dynamic response to your playing.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 72-Hour Love-It Guarantee. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
If you order before 3 PM CST on a weekday, it ships the same day. We’ll get it into your hands fast with free, insured 2-3 day shipping.
