Product Description

Vintage Vibe, Modern Punch

Get ready to channel some serious ’70s swagger. The Squier Classic Vibe ’70s Jaguar is a straight-up tribute to the iconic offset that defined a generation of sonic rebels. Dressed in a classic Black finish with a slick tortoiseshell pickguard, this Jag has the look, but more importantly, it’s got the tone and feel that made the originals legendary. From janky surf rock to shoegaze and snarling punk, this guitar has a voice all its own.

Authentic Tone Machines

The heart of this Jag is a pair of Fender-Designed Alnico Single-Coil pickups. These things are wound to deliver that classic Jaguar cut and clarity, with a warmth and complexity that punches way above its price point. And let’s talk about the electronics, this isn’t your standard setup. The dual-circuit design lets you dial in two completely distinct sounds on the fly. Use the lead circuit for bright, aggressive tones, then flick the switch to the rhythm circuit for a darker, woolier neck-pickup-only voice that’s perfect for mellow passages or pushing a fuzz pedal into oblivion.

That Slinky Jaguar Feel

If you’ve never played a short-scale guitar, you’re in for a treat. The 24-inch scale length makes string bending a breeze and complex chords feel effortless. The “C” shape maple neck is a comfortable handful, not too thick, not too thin, and the tinted gloss finish gives it the smooth, broken-in feel of a vintage instrument. Combined with a modern 9.5-inch radius Indian Laurel fingerboard and narrow-tall frets, this Jag is built for speed and comfort.

Expressive Hardware

It wouldn’t be a Jaguar without the floating vibrato. This vintage-style system lets you add everything from subtle shimmers to wild, expressive dives, all while the 6-saddle bridge keeps your tuning solid. Every piece of hardware, from the vintage-style tuners to the nickel plating, is designed to capture that authentic, old-school vibe.

Anatomy of a Tone Machine

Anatomy of a Tone Machine

Perfect for: Indie Rock • Surf • Shoegaze • Post-Punk

Tone

  • Bridge pickup delivers a bright, percussive snap with plenty of grit and bite.
  • Neck pickup offers a rounder, warmer voice that's glassy and clear.
  • Rhythm circuit provides a darker, mellow neck tone perfect for jazz or thickening up fuzz.
  • Responds beautifully to your picking attack, cleaning up nicely when you play soft and snarling when you dig in.

Playing Feel

  • The shorter 24" scale length gives the strings a slinky, buttery feel, making bends effortless.
  • The slim "C" neck profile and 9.5" radius fingerboard offer a comfortable, modern playing experience on a vintage-style axe.
  • The offset Jaguar body is famously comfortable and well-balanced for playing seated or standing.
  • A very inviting platform for players with smaller hands or anyone who loves a faster-feeling neck.

Versatility

  • Excels at glassy clean tones but takes gain like a champ, offering a unique snarl with overdrive.
  • A fantastic pedal platform, especially with fuzz, delay, and reverb for ambient textures.
  • Records beautifully, with a distinct percussive attack that cuts through a dense mix without being harsh.
  • The dual-circuit wiring offers a built-in preset, letting you switch from a lead to a rhythm sound instantly.

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

Think of it as a built-in preset. The Lead circuit (switch down) gives you access to both pickups with the traditional controls. When you flip the switch up to the Rhythm circuit, it instantly selects only the neck pickup and uses a separate pair of volume and tone roller knobs to give you a darker, mellower sound. It’s perfect for quickly changing your tone without touching your amp or pedals.
Not at all. Most players find it incredibly comfortable and easy to play, especially if you have smaller hands or just prefer a slinkier string feel. The lower string tension makes big bends much easier, and complex chord shapes feel less strenuous. It’s a huge part of the Jaguar’s unique character.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 14-Day Return Policy. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
Orders ship same day in most cases and arrive within 1-4 business days with free, insured shipping. We’ll get it into your hands as quickly as we can.
