Product Description

The Real Deal: A ’63 Telecaster Reborn

This isn’t just a guitar; it’s a time machine. This pre-owned 2023 Fender American Vintage II 1963 Telecaster is a stunningly accurate recreation of a pivotal year for the Tele. Finished in a classic 3-Color Sunburst nitrocellulose lacquer over a resonant alder body, it looks and feels like a prized vintage piece. From the moment you pick it up, you can feel the history—this is the sound that cut through countless iconic tracks, now ready for your hands.

Period-Correct Feel and Tone

The magic is in the details. Fender nailed the mid-60s vibe with a comfortable 1963 “C” shape maple neck that feels substantial yet inviting. It’s topped with a beautiful round-laminated rosewood fingerboard and a vintage-accurate 7.25″ radius—perfect for chording and rhythm work. The Pure Vintage ’63 single-coil pickups deliver that unmistakable Tele snap and twang, with a glassy warmth from the neck and a biting attack from the bridge. It’s pure, unadulterated Telecaster tone.

Vintage Soul, Modern Reliability

While it channels the spirit of ’63, this guitar is built for today’s player. You get the authentic look and sound—from the threaded steel barrel saddles to the vintage-style tuners—without the quirks of a 60-year-old instrument. This one is in good condition and comes with its original hardshell case, ready to hit the stage or the studio. It’s a chance to own a legendary design, meticulously recreated.

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

In the early ’60s, Fender switched from a ‘slab’ to a ’round-lam’ fingerboard, which is a thinner, curved piece of rosewood laminated onto the maple neck. Tonally, it adds a touch of warmth and bloom to the notes compared to a maple cap, and many players feel it contributes to the classic ’60s Fender sound.
The 7.25″ radius is noticeably more curved than modern Fender necks. It feels incredibly comfortable for playing chords, especially barre chords, as it matches the natural curve of your hand. While aggressive string bending can be a little tougher than on a flatter radius, it’s the authentic feel for any player chasing that vintage vibe.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 14-Day Return Policy. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
If you order before 3 PM CST on a weekday, it ships the same day. We’ll get it into your hands fast with free, insured 2-3 day shipping.
