Vintage Vibe, Modern Playability

This isn’t just a guitar; it’s a time machine. This pre-owned 2006 Fender American Vintage ’62 Jaguar nails the quintessential vibe of the early ’60s originals, from the iconic 3-Color Sunburst to the unmistakable jangle and bite that defined an era. Finished in a thin nitrocellulose lacquer, this guitar is built to age gracefully, with every check and ding telling your story. It’s got that authentic surf-rock shimmer and the snarling grit that became the bedrock of indie and alternative rock.

Authentic ’62 Tone & Feel

The heart of this Jag is its pair of American Vintage ’62 Single-Coil Jaguar pickups. These pickups deliver a bright, punchy, and articulate tone with a glassy top-end that cuts through a mix without being harsh. The shorter 24″ scale length isn’t just for comfort—it creates a slinkier, more buttery playing feel, making bends and vibrato feel effortless. Paired with the vintage-correct 7.25″ radius rosewood fingerboard, chording and lead lines feel instantly familiar and comfortable.

Unleash Your Sonic Creativity

One of the Jaguar’s most iconic features is its incredibly versatile electronics. The dual-circuit design—Lead and Rhythm—gives you a massive palette of sounds to explore. The Lead circuit offers the classic, bright Jag tone with individual on/off switches for each pickup and a unique high-pass filter switch. Flip to the Rhythm circuit, and you get the neck pickup routed through a different set of controls, giving you a warmer, darker tone that’s perfect for mellow passages or jazz-tinged chords. It’s like having two guitars in one.

Anatomy of a Tone Machine

Anatomy of a Tone Machine

Perfect for: Indie Rock • Surf • Alternative • Shoegaze

Tone

  • Bridge pickup delivers a sharp, biting tone with plenty of chime and clarity.
  • Neck pickup is warm and round, perfect for smooth leads and full-bodied chords.
  • Flipping to the rhythm circuit offers a darker, mellower neck pickup tone for instant mood shifts.
  • Highly responsive to pick attack, blooming with harmonic richness when you dig in.

Playing Feel

  • The classic offset body is notoriously comfortable and well-balanced, whether sitting or standing.
  • The 24" short-scale neck and vintage 7.25" radius make for a slinky, easy-playing experience.
  • The gloss nitro finish on the neck has a smooth, broken-in feel that's a joy to play.
  • A guitar that invites experimentation and feels comfortable for hours-long sessions.

Versatility

  • Excels at glassy cleans but takes fuzz, delay, and reverb pedals like a champ.
  • Its unique voice carves out its own space in a dense mix without stepping on other instruments.
  • The dual-circuit design makes it a secret weapon in the studio for quickly layering different tones.
  • From surfy cleans to gritty punk, the Jag has a surprisingly wide range.

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

They offer incredible tonal flexibility! The three switches on the lower horn control each pickup individually (on/off) and engage a high-pass filter for extra bite. The switch on the upper horn selects between the ‘Lead’ circuit (using the lower switches and knobs) and the ‘Rhythm’ circuit, which activates only the neck pickup with its own dedicated volume and tone roller knobs for a smoother, darker sound.
The 24-inch scale length reduces string tension, which makes the strings feel slinkier and easier to bend. It’s a very comfortable setup, especially for players with smaller hands or those who love expressive vibrato and complex chord voicings. It also contributes to the guitar’s unique, slightly warmer fundamental tone.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 72-Hour Love-It Guarantee. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
If you order before 3 PM CST on a weekday, it ships the same day. We’ll get it into your hands fast with free, insured 2-3 day shipping.
