Product Description

Classic SG Bite With Pelham Blue Attitude

If you want that snarling SG thing without dropping Gibson money, this Epiphone SG Standard hits the sweet spot. It delivers the midrange punch, fast feel, and slick Pelham Blue vibe that begs to live on stage, not just in a bedroom.

Mahogany SG Body With Pelham Blue Swagger

This is the classic SG recipe: a contoured, double cutaway mahogany body that feels light on the shoulder but still has the density to ring and sustain. You get easy access to all 22 frets, so ripping high-register leads feels natural instead of like a reach.

The gloss Pelham Blue finish looks classy and a little dangerous under lights. It is the kind of color that turns heads without screaming for attention, and the bound fretboard detail gives it that extra touch of old school class.

SlimTaper Neck That Lets You Play Faster

The glued-in mahogany neck has Epiphone’s SlimTaper C profile, which means it fills your hand just enough for control but never feels bulky. If you are into quick riffs, big bends, or long sets, this profile stays comfortable and out of the way.

A laurel fingerboard with a 12 inch radius and 22 medium jumbo frets keeps things smooth. Chords in the first position feel natural, and when you start bending up high, notes stay clear instead of fretting out. Pearloid trapezoid inlays give you that familiar SG look every time you glance down.

ProBucker Humbuckers With Classic SG Growl

The ProBucker 2 in the neck and ProBucker 3 in the bridge are voiced to live in that vintage SG zone. The bridge pickup has the grind and cut for rock rhythms and solos, while the neck fattens up for creamy leads and warm chords.

Each pickup has its own volume and tone control, plus a three way toggle, so you can fine tune your gain and top end for any rig. Roll the bridge tone back for thick, singing leads, or park the selector in the middle for punchy, articulate rhythm tones that sit right in the mix.

Hardware Built For Real World Playing

The LockTone Tune O Matic bridge and Stop Bar tailpiece keep things locked down, so you can dig in without worrying about tuning drift. Grover Rotomatic tuners and a Graph Tech nut work together to keep tuning stable through bends, retunes, and long gigs.

Nickel hardware, the large black batwing pickguard, and tasteful plastic appointments nail the classic SG aesthetic. At around 7.2 pounds, it feels light enough for long nights but still has enough mass for sustain and punch.

The Lowdown

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

Real talk: a Gibson SG Standard costs a lot more largely for the name on the headstock and USA build. This Epiphone is part of the Inspired by Gibson line, with a mahogany body and neck, set neck construction, and ProBucker humbuckers that get you right into that classic SG growl. If you want the sound and feel without the vintage price tag, this is a killer value that holds its own on any stage.
Yes, and then some. Pelham Blue has this cool trick where it shifts slightly depending on the light, so under stage lights it really comes alive without looking flashy or cheap. Our photos are of the actual guitar you are buying, so what you see on the site is the exact Pelham Blue you will pull out of the box.
At around 7.2 pounds, this SG feels light and easy on the shoulder but still has enough mass to sustain and punch. The strap button placement at the bottom and below the neck heel gives you a familiar SG hang that feels natural for rock, worship, or bar gigs. It is built to get through full sets without wearing you out.
This SG Standard comes with a premium gig bag, so you are covered right out of the gate. It is padded and road ready enough for rehearsals, church, or local shows, and if you ever upgrade to a hard case you will still have a great grab and go option.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 14-Day Return Policy. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
If you order before 3 PM CST on a weekday, it ships the same day. We’ll get it into your hands fast with free, insured 2-3 day shipping.
Call us at (888) 794-8482. You’ll talk to a real musician who can answer anything you need to know.
