Notes from the Moore Guitar Staff
One of the most popular guitars in the history of Taylor has been the 314ce. That's the guitar that really began a lot of players to look at "these new kids on the block from San Diego"! A well crafted, all "crafted in the USA" acoustic that plated as easy as an electric, had a great cutaway, and came with electronics. Lots of players who started out with Taylor guitars with a 100 or 200 series fell in love with the Taylor brand and story, and really dug the thinner 1-11/16" neck on those models; but now they wanted to step up into a full Mahogany voiced USA made guitar. Since the USA Taylor guitars stepped up to a slightly wider 1-3/4" nut width it took some getting used to, but NOW - with the advent of the studio series you get the neck you fell in love with along with all the cool USA appointments and solid wood construction! These guitars are an amazing value - they not only look great, but they have the playability and the tone that goes along with it. The Sapele solid wood is in the mahogany family, so you get all the benefits of mahogany without the higher price! The 314ce Studio is without a doubt, an amazing value!
Notes from Taylor Guitars
Crafted with all-solid tonewoods, tone-enhancing interior bracing and a striking sunburst finish, the Taylor 314ce Studio makes pro-quality sound more accessible than ever. This versatile, comfortable Grand Auditorium acoustic-electric boasts back and sides of solid sapele, a mahogany-like tonewood with a warm, punchy midrange voice. A solid top of torrefied Sitka spruce yields bold projection and a warm, aged-in quality thanks to our special roasting recipe, while our V-Class bracing adds more volume, longer sustain and clearer harmony between notes all the way up the neck. A narrower nut width of 1-11/16 inches and our slender neck profile makes for buttery-smooth fretting at any skill level, and the onboard ES2 electronics make it easy to plug in and play with clear amplified tone. This model is finished with an attractive shaded edgeburst top treatment and an all-gloss body, and includes a structured gig bag for convenient storage and portability.
