Product Description

Lefty Grand Auditorium That Can Cover Every Gig

If you’re a lefty who is tired of compromising, this 214ce-K finally puts you on equal footing. Big, open acoustic tone, stage ready electronics, and that effortless Taylor feel all come together in a super comfortable Grand Auditorium that will happily live on the couch, in the studio, and under stage lights.

Torrefied Spruce Top With Koa Glow

The solid torrefied spruce top is the secret sauce here. That special roasting process gives you the punch and clarity of fresh spruce with a sweet, aged in warmth that usually takes years of playing to unlock. Notes jump out with crisp attack, then bloom and hang in the air in a really musical way.

Layered Hawaiian koa back and sides add that glossy midrange and shimmering top end that koa fans love. It is articulate enough for fingerstyle, but has plenty of body when you dig in with a pick. The natural matte finish keeps reflections down under stage lights and lets the guitar feel broken in instead of plastic coated.

C Class Bracing For Power And Balance

Taylor’s C Class bracing with relief rout is designed to wake up the low end without killing the sparkle. You get a tighter, more focused bass response, longer sustain, and a wider dynamic range than traditional X bracing in this price range. Strum hard and it stays clear instead of turning into mush.

Real talk, this bracing makes the guitar feel louder and more alive under your right hand. You can play softly and get nuance, or lean in and it will keep up with a full band or a loud singer without folding.

Easy Playing Taylor Neck For Real World Musicians

The neo tropical mahogany neck with Taylor’s standard carve feels instantly familiar. It fills your hand enough to feel solid, but it never fights back when you are playing longer sets. The smooth matte finish keeps your hand from sticking, whether you are under hot stage lights or just practicing at home.

West African Crelicam ebony for the fingerboard and bridge keeps things fast and responsive under your fingers. Chords ring true all the way up the neck, and single notes have that snappy attack you want for lead lines and melodic fingerstyle. And of course, this one is built from the ground up as a true left handed instrument, not a flipped afterthought.

ES2 Electronics That Just Work On Stage

Taylor’s Expression System 2 is one of the few factory systems that really sounds like your guitar, just louder. The behind the saddle sensors pick up more of the top movement, so you get air, body, and wood in the plugged in tone instead of that thin, quacky piezo sound.

Dial in the onboard controls, hit your DI or acoustic amp, and you are basically ready to go. It takes pedals well, records cleanly, and makes this 214ce-K a legit grab and go gigging rig for coffee shops, churches, and full band stages.

Dialed In At Moore Guitars And Ready To Roll

This exact guitar is in our Evansville, Indiana shop right now, and the photos you see are of the actual instrument. Before it leaves, our techs give it the full Player Perfect setup, checking it three times so it shows up ready to make music, not a trip to the repair bench.

You are getting a lightweight, 4.6 pound lefty that ships fast in a Taylor Standard gig bag, with free 2 to 3 day shipping and our 14 day return window backing you up. If you have been waiting for a do it all left handed acoustic electric that feels as good as it sounds, this 214ce-K is absolutely in that sweet spot.

The Lowdown

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

Torrefaction is basically controlled roasting that pre-ages the spruce. It drives out moisture and volatile resins so the top responds more like a well played vintage guitar. You get quicker attack, more open mids, and a sweetened high end without losing clarity. On this 214ce-K, it helps the guitar feel loud and alive right out of the box instead of stiff or tight.
Absolutely. The Grand Auditorium body is a proven do-it-all shape, big enough for solo acoustic work but controlled enough to sit in a full band mix. The ES2 system gives you a reliable, natural-sounding plugged-in tone, and the light weight makes it easy on your back for longer sets. If you want one lefty acoustic-electric to cover open mics, church, and recording, this is a killer choice.
Layered koa gives you the cosmetic beauty of koa with excellent stability for real-world use. The solid top is where most of your acoustic tone comes from, while the layered back and sides resist humidity swings and minor bumps better than delicate all-solid builds. Paired with the included Taylor Standard gig bag, it is a very road-friendly lefty rig.
Yes. The pictures on this page are of the actual 214ce-K Lefty you are buying, right down to the koa grain. We shoot each guitar individually so you know exactly what is coming out of the case when it lands at your door. No stock photos, no surprises.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 14-Day Return Policy. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
If you order before 3 PM CST on a weekday, it ships the same day. We’ll get it into your hands fast with free, insured 2-3 day shipping.
