Product Description

The Do-It-All Taylor Grand Auditorium

Here’s the deal—the Taylor 114ce is one of those guitars that just *works*. It’s the quintessential workhorse, blending comfortable playability with a versatile voice that can cover serious ground. This pre-owned model is in excellent shape, so clean the plastic is still on the pickguard. It’s your chance to get into a genuine Taylor with that legendary feel and tone, already nicely settled in.

Torrefied Top, Seasoned Tone

The magic starts with the solid torrefied Sitka spruce top. Taylor’s special roasting process gives this guitar a warmer, more responsive, and “played-in” sound right from day one. It delivers all the punch and clarity of spruce, but with a sweetness and bloom you’d normally have to wait years to hear. Paired with layered walnut back and sides, you get a focused, balanced tone with a strong midrange that’s perfect for strumming, flatpicking, and fingerstyle alike.

Effortless Playability & Stage-Ready Electronics

If you’ve played a Taylor, you know about the neck. This 114ce features that famously comfortable Standard Carve profile, making complex chords and fast runs feel almost effortless. The Venetian cutaway gives you easy access to the upper frets, and when you’re ready to plug in, the onboard Expression System 2 (ES2) electronics capture all the nuance and dynamic character of the guitar. It’s a natural, authentic plugged-in sound that’s ready for any stage or studio.

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

Torrefaction is a special roasting process that ages the wood, giving it the warm, sweet, and responsive character of a vintage guitar. It makes the 114ce sound more open and complex right out of the case, with a quicker response to your playing.
The Grand Auditorium is a more versatile shape. It has a narrower waist than a dreadnought, which tightens up the bass and makes the midrange more focused. It’s incredibly balanced, making it a favorite for players who switch between strumming and fingerstyle.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 14-Day Return Policy. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
If you order before 3 PM CST on a weekday, it ships the same day. We’ll get it into your hands fast with free, insured 2-3 day shipping.
Call us at (888) 794-8482. You’ll talk to a real musician who can answer anything you need to know.
