Old-Soul Singlecut Feel With Modern PRS Precision

The PRS McCarty 594 is Paul’s love letter to the golden era of set neck single cuts, refined with the ridiculous consistency PRS is famous for. This Eriza Verde beauty rings acoustically, plays in tune all the way up the neck, and feels like a guitar you have already spent years breaking in.

If you are chasing fat, vintage voiced humbucker tones that can flip into convincing single coil sparkle, this thing hits that sweet spot. It is effortless under the fingers and deadly serious about tone.

Maple Over Mahogany For Singing Sustain

The classic recipe is here for a reason. A maple top over a mahogany back gives you fast attack, rich midrange, and that singing sustain that blooms and hangs on a little longer than you expect.

The 594’s slightly thicker back adds a touch more punch and low end, so notes feel solid without getting muddy. At 7.8 pounds it lives in the sweet spot: enough mass for authority, light enough that a three set night is no problem.

Pattern Vintage Neck That Feels Like Home

The mahogany Pattern Vintage neck is pure comfort. With a 7/8 inch depth at the nut, it fills your hand in a very old school way but never feels like a baseball bat.

Pair that carve with the 10 inch radius rosewood fingerboard, faux bone binding, and PRS level fretwork and you get slinky bends, low action, and zero dead spots. The 24.594 inch scale length has a slightly softer feel under the fingers, so big bends and extended chords feel buttery instead of like a workout.

58/15 LT TCI Pickups: From PAF Grit To Glassy Chime

The 58/15 LT pickups have gone through PRS’s TCI process, which basically means every detail of capacitance and inductance is tuned so the pickups sit right in the pocket. Real talk, they sound like the best low turn PAFs you have heard, with more consistency and clarity.

In humbucker mode you get thick, articulate grind that cleans up with your volume knob instead of collapsing. Pull up the push pull tone controls and the coils split into glassy, open single coil style tones that stay usable, not thin and brittle. Two volumes, two tones, and the 3 way toggle up on the bout make it easy to live on the in between settings and ride the knobs all night.

Hardware That Lets The Notes Ring

Paul’s line about “everything that touches the string is God” is all over this guitar. The PRS two piece bridge is zinc for a reason. It adds warmth and sustain while keeping the attack focused, and it intonates up the neck the way older single cuts never quite did.

A bone nut and vintage style tuners lock everything down so bends snap back in tune instead of drifting sharp or flat. Strung with PRS Signature 10 46s, it feels ready to walk into a session or a tour right out of the case.

The Lowdown

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

Think classic singlecut soul with PRS level refinement. You still get that maple over mahogany punch, fat humbucker roar, and long sustain, but the 594 plays more in tune up the neck, stays stable gig after gig, and has a wider range of usable tones thanks to the coil splits and smarter control layout. If you love vintage single cuts but want fewer headaches, this is the move.
The Pattern Vintage carve is substantial, not huge for the sake of being huge. At 7/8 inch deep at the nut, it fills your palm in a really comfortable, old school way but the shoulders are shaped so it never feels clunky. If you like a solid grip and hate skinny, toothpick necks, you will be right at home. If you are unsure, call us and we will compare it to necks you already know.
The coil splits on the 58/15 LT pickups are genuinely musical, not just a party trick. Pulled up, you get open, glassy tones that sit where a good single coil lives, but with a little more body so they still feel solid under your fingers. It is easy to go from fat, singing humbucker leads to chimey clean rhythms just by hitting the switch and rolling your volume a touch.
Yes on both. We offer 0% financing for up to 36 months with Synchrony (subject to approval), and we are always happy to look at trade-ins to help you get into the right guitar. You also get our price match guarantee, free 2-3 day shipping, and the 72-Hour Love-It Guarantee on this McCarty 594. If you want to talk numbers or trade value, give us a call.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 72-Hour Love-It Guarantee. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
If you order before 3 PM CST on a weekday, it ships the same day. We’ll get it into your hands fast with free, insured 2-3 day shipping.
Call us at (888) 794-8482. You’ll talk to a real musician who can answer anything you need to know.
