Product Description

This Guitar Does not Include A Trem Arm

The Working Musician’s Secret Weapon

Meet the PRS S2 Standard 24—a guitar that’s all about delivering pro-level performance without the boutique price tag. Built right here in Maryland, USA, this axe strips away the non-essentials to focus on what truly matters: tone, playability, and reliability. The solid mahogany body provides a warm, resonant foundation, while the classic Black high-gloss nitro finish gives it a sleek, ready-for-anything look. This isn’t just a backup guitar; it’s a main-stage contender.

Vintage Heart, Modern Clarity

The soul of this S2 is its pair of 58/15 LT pickups. The “LT” stands for Low Turns, meaning PRS voiced these to capture the airy sweetness of vintage PAF-style humbuckers. The result is a tone that’s rich and warm but with a beautiful, open clarity that never gets muddy. The 5-way blade switch unlocks a whole palette of sounds, from full-throated humbucker roar to snappy, single-coil-style chime, making it a true sonic chameleon.

Effortless Playability

From the moment you pick it up, the S2 Standard 24 feels like an old friend. The Pattern Thin neck profile is fast and comfortable, perfect for both complex chording and blistering lead lines. Combined with a 25″ scale length and a 10″ rosewood fretboard radius, it strikes the perfect balance between classic feel and modern precision. Add in the rock-solid stability of the PRS Patented Tremolo and Low Mass Locking Tuners, and you’ve got a guitar that’s ready for hours of expressive, worry-free playing.

Anatomy of a Tone Machine

  • The Pattern Thin neck is a player's dream—fast, sleek, and comfortable for any hand size.

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

The S2 series is all about delivering the core PRS experience—American-made quality, feel, and tone—in a more straightforward package. They use slightly different manufacturing processes and appointments, like the asymmetric bevel top carve instead of a full carve, to give you a genuine PRS workhorse at a more accessible price.
It’s incredibly versatile. You get your powerful bridge and neck humbucker tones in positions 1 and 5. But the magic is in positions 2, 3, and 4, which offer various split-coil combinations. This gives you access to those bright, snappy, single-coil-esque sounds without the 60-cycle hum, making the guitar perfect for almost any genre.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 14-Day Return Policy. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
If you order before 3 PM CST on a weekday, it ships the same day. We’ll get it into your hands fast with free, insured 2-3 day shipping.
Call us at (888) 794-8482. You’ll talk to a real musician who can answer anything you need to know.
