Product Description

The Sound of Modern Metal—Distilled.

This isn’t just another signature model. This is a meticulously crafted tool for the modern metal player, designed by Mark Holcomb of Periphery to deliver devastating tone and effortless playability. The PRS SE Mark Holcomb starts with the classic mahogany and maple tonewood recipe but is supercharged for today’s progressive player. The stunning quilted maple veneer in Holcomb Blue Burst is just the beginning—the real magic lies in how this guitar feels and sounds. It’s built for complex rhythms, soaring leads, and everything in between.

Signature Scarlet & Scourge Pickups

The heart of this beast is Holcomb’s signature Seymour Duncan pickups. The “Scourge” in the bridge is all about percussive, tight low-end with incredible articulation—perfect for high-gain riffing where every note needs to cut through. In the neck, the “Scarlet” offers a warmer, glassier voice that’s surprisingly versatile, delivering fluid lead tones and pristine cleans with plenty of bloom. The push/pull tone pot splits the coils for even more sonic options, making this far more than a one-trick pony.

Built for Speed and Comfort

This guitar is spec’d for pure performance. The 25.5″ scale length provides a snappy, immediate response, ideal for dropped tunings like the factory Drop-C setup. The real game-changer is the neck—a Wide Thin profile with a satin finish that feels buttery smooth and lightning-fast. Combined with an almost-flat 20″ radius ebony fretboard, this is a platform built for wide bends and technical, fleet-fingered playing without fighting the instrument.

The Lowdown

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

It feels significantly flatter, which a lot of modern players love. While a standard PRS might have a 10″ radius, this 20″ radius is built for speed and wide, effortless string bending. It’s fantastic for technical lead work and low-action setups without notes ‘fretting out’.
They were designed specifically for Mark Holcomb to provide extreme clarity, especially for low tunings and use with modeling amps. They have enough output to drive an amp hard but they’re not overly saturated, which allows the intricate details of your playing to cut through a dense band mix. It’s all about articulation meeting aggression.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 14-Day Return Policy. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
If you order before 3 PM CST on a weekday, it ships the same day. We’ll get it into your hands fast with free, insured 2-3 day shipping.
