Product Description

Electric Comfort, Pure Martin Acoustic Soul

If you have ever wished your acoustic felt more like your favorite electric, this Martin SC-13E Gloss is exactly that. Full fret access, a sleek neck, and a body that stays comfortable all night, but with that unmistakable Martin voice that blooms and rings unplugged.

Sure Align Neck For Unlimited Fret Access

The patented Sure Align neck joint is the secret sauce here. Instead of fighting a bulky heel, you glide all the way up to the 20th fret with ease, so solos, chord voicings, and melodies up high feel natural instead of like a stretch.

Real talk, this is the first Martin that truly invites you to play lead lines up the neck without thinking about the guitar. The neck joins at the 13th fret, the cutaway is deep, and everything about the geometry is designed to get your hand where the music wants to go.

Asymmetrical S-13 Body That Loves Stage Volume

The S-13 Fret Cutaway body is not just a funky shape, it is a purpose-built stage tool. The asymmetrical design and Tone Tension X bracing give you a balanced, controlled acoustic voice that stays clear when you get loud and helps fight feedback when the monitors get feisty.

Plugged in, the guitar feels focused and tight, with enough low end to feel full but not so much that you are battling mud at front of house. It is the kind of acoustic-electric that lets you turn up with confidence instead of tiptoeing around the volume knob.

Gloss Spruce And Koa For Modern Sparkle

The gloss spruce top gives you that familiar Martin clarity and punch, while the koa fine veneer back and sides add a nice chime on top and a touch of midrange sweetness. Strummed, it has a clear, modern voice that cuts in a band mix without getting harsh. Fingerpicked, notes separate beautifully and hang with a little shimmer on the decay.

White binding, blue multi-stripe top inlay, the aperture rosette, and brown tortoise guard give it a clean, modern look that still nods to classic Martin styling. It is a guitar that looks as slick under stage lights as it does on a stand at home.

Plays Like Your Favorite Electric

The low profile velocity neck with high performance taper feels fast and familiar if you are coming from electrics. The carve subtly shifts as you move up the neck so your hand stays relaxed, and the satin finish keeps everything smooth and non-sticky even under hot lights.

The ebony fingerboard with a 16 inch saddle radius, 1 3/4 inch nut, and 2 1/8 inch width at the 12th fret hits that sweet spot between roomy chords and easy bends. The guitar has been Plek processed for precise fretwork, so intonation is dialed and vibrato feels glassy from the first fret to the last.

Fishman MX-T Electronics, Ready For The Real World

Martin designed the SC-13E to live plugged in, and the onboard Fishman MX-T system keeps things simple and musical. You get a natural, present acoustic tone that works straight into a PA, an acoustic amp, or a recording interface without a lot of EQ surgery.

Between the feedback-resistant body design and the balanced output of the MX-T, this guitar is built for worship stages, clubs, songwriter rounds, and studio work where reliability matters as much as tone.

Lightweight, Gig Ready, And Dialed In By Moore Guitars

At around 3.8 pounds, this SC-13E feels incredibly light and balanced whether you are sitting or standing. Nickel open gear tuners with butterbean knobs keep things classy and stable, and the included soft-shell case makes it easy to get in and out of rehearsals, sessions, and Sunday services.

Every guitar that hits our wall gets the full Moore Guitars treatment. Photos are of the actual guitar, it is inspected three times, and it gets a free Player-Perfect setup from a tech who actually gigs. Tell us your string gauge and preferred action at checkout and we will dial it in to your spec before it ships, so it shows up ready to make music, not a project.

The Lowdown

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

The SC-13E is built for players who live in both acoustic and electric worlds. Compared to a classic Martin dread or OM, you get a slimmer, faster neck, deeper cutaway, and a 13th fret neck joint that makes upper fret work feel effortless. The asymmetrical S-13 body and Tone Tension X bracing are voiced for stage volume and feedback control, while the Fishman MX-T system gives you a modern, balanced sound plugged in. It still has real Martin acoustic character, just tuned for the realities of modern gigs and worship stages.
If you are coming from electric, the SC-13E feels familiar right away. The Low Profile Velocity carve and High Performance Taper keep the neck slim and comfortable as you move up, and the Sure Align joint removes that big acoustic heel that usually gets in the way. Add the satin finish and precise Plek’d fretwork and you get smooth bends, clean vibrato, and easy chord stretches that feel a lot closer to a good electric than a traditional acoustic.
The SC-13E was designed from the ground up to be plugged in, so it behaves better at volume than most conventional acoustics. The asymmetrical S-13 body and Tone Tension X bracing help control low-end boom, which is where most feedback problems start. Paired with the Fishman MX-T, you get more usable gain before things start to howl, which is a big win for worship players, full bands, and anyone running through wedges or loud in-ears.
Absolutely. The SC-13E is light, comfortable, and voiced to sit perfectly in a modern mix, which is exactly what worship leaders and singer-songwriters need. The neck stays easy on the hands through multiple services or long sets, and the Fishman MX-T system gives you a clear, consistent sound night after night. Add the included soft-shell case and our Player-Perfect setup, and you are ready for rehearsals, Sunday morning, and coffeehouse gigs with one guitar.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 14-Day Return Policy. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
If you order before 3 PM CST on a weekday, it ships the same day. We’ll get it into your hands fast with free, insured 2-3 day shipping.
