Product Description

A Custom Shop Canon: Where Cocobolo Meets the Alps

This isn’t just another acoustic guitar. This is a Martin Custom Shop M/0000—a Grand Auditorium born from a partnership between our wood experts at Moore Guitars and the legendary luthiers in Nazareth. We hand-selected these specific wood sets because we knew they were destined for something special. The result? A guitar with a voice that’s as breathtaking as its stunning visuals. The premium Cocobolo back and sides provide a sonic footprint that’s often compared to the Holy Grail of Brazilian Rosewood—rich, glassy, and powerful, with a deep, resonant low-end and bell-like clarity. This is a guitar that feels alive against your chest, rumbling with harmonic complexity.

The Italian Alpine Spruce Top

To complement the power of Cocobolo, we chose a Grade 3-4 Italian Alpine Spruce top. This sought-after European tonewood is prized for its crystalline trebles and complex overtones, offering a touch-sensitivity that rewards nuanced playing. It has incredible headroom, meaning you can strum with authority without losing articulation, yet it responds to the lightest fingerstyle touch with a delicate shimmer. The forward-shifted, hand-shaped Golden Era bracing underneath ensures this top can move freely, creating a responsive, dynamic engine that’s bursting with volume and sustain.

Effortless Playability, Timeless Style

Martin’s M/0000 Grand Auditorium body shape is the ultimate all-rounder, blending the power of a dreadnought with the comfort and focus of a smaller-bodied guitar. It’s a perfect canvas for this tonewood pairing. The playability is pure Martin—a GE Modified Low Oval neck with a High-Performance Taper feels instantly familiar and comfortable for any style. Finished with classic Style 28 appointments, a bold herringbone inlay, and an elegant aging toner on the top, this Custom Shop creation is a true heirloom-quality instrument, ready for the stage, studio, and generations of inspiration.

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

It’s a true ‘best of both worlds’ pairing. Cocobolo brings the power, warmth, and rich overtones similar to old-growth Brazilian Rosewood, giving the guitar a deep, resonant voice. The Italian Alpine Spruce top adds incredible clarity, touch-sensitivity, and a high ceiling for volume, so the guitar stays articulate and clear no matter how hard you play. Together, they create a guitar with immense dynamic range and harmonic complexity.
The M/0000, or Grand Auditorium, is a fantastic middle ground. It has the width and depth approaching a Dreadnought, giving it powerful volume and bass response, but its tighter waist provides a more balanced tone with less ‘boominess’. This makes it more focused for recording and more comfortable to play than a Dread, while being a bit bigger and louder than a standard OM/000.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 72-Hour Love-It Guarantee. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
If you order before 3 PM CST on a weekday, it ships the same day. We’ll get it into your hands fast with free, insured 2-3 day shipping.
