A Piece of Martin History, Ready for the Stage
Here’s something special for the player who appreciates a guitar with a story. This 1985 Martin D-3532 Shenandoah isn’t just another dreadnought; it’s a unique chapter in Martin’s history. Built from components crafted in Japan and then assembled and finished by the legendary hands at the Martin factory in Nazareth, PA, these guitars offered players access to Martin’s iconic tone and feel at a working musician’s price. This one has aged beautifully, opening up to deliver that big, room-filling voice you expect from a vintage dreadnought.
Classic Tone Woods, Unmistakable Voice
The heart of this guitar is its solid spruce top, providing the articulation and top-end sparkle that makes chords shimmer and single-note lines cut through. Paired with a classic three-piece rosewood veneer back and sides, this D-3532 dishes out a powerful low-end boom and a rich, resonant character. It’s the sound that has powered folk, bluegrass, and rock for decades, now with over 30 years of vintage maturity.
Ready for the Modern Player
While its soul is vintage, this Shenandoah is built to perform. The Nato neck is comfortable and fast, and the 1/4″ output jack means it’s ready to plug in and play live, no modifications needed. Our techs have given it a full setup, ensuring it plays as good as it sounds. The original bridge saddle was replaced with a new Martin TUSQ saddle for optimal tone transfer and reliability. It’s a fantastic player’s-grade vintage Martin that comes complete with a hardshell case.
