Product Description

The Modern Tele, Perfected

This isn’t your grandad’s Telecaster, unless your grandad is a stone-cold tone chaser on the cutting edge. This pre-owned 2021 Fender American Ultra Telecaster in the stunning Texas Tea finish is a masterclass in modern guitar design, blending timeless Tele twang with features built for today’s most demanding players. It’s in excellent condition and comes with the original hardshell case, ready to hit the stage or studio.

Modern Feel, Classic Soul

From the moment you pick it up, the American Ultra feels different. The Modern “D” neck profile is slim and fast, with rolled fingerboard edges that feel comfortably broken-in from the first chord. Combined with a compound 10″-14″ radius rosewood fingerboard, you get effortless chording down low and choke-free bending up high. The satin finish on the neck is pure buttery bliss, and the sculpted heel gives you wide-open access to the upper frets.

Noiseless Pickups, Endless Tones

The heart of this Tele is its pair of Ultra Noiseless Vintage Tele pickups. You get all the iconic snap, bite, and spank you expect from a great Tele, but without a hint of that pesky 60-cycle hum. But Fender didn’t stop there. The S-1 switch, discreetly located on the volume knob, kicks the pickups into series wiring. This gives you a fatter, humbucker-esque tone that’s perfect for driving your amp into sweet overdrive. From glassy cleans and classic country cluck to thick, articulate rock tones, this guitar has it covered.

Built for the Road

Every detail on the American Ultra is designed for performance and stability. The 6-saddle bridge with chromed brass saddles provides precise intonation and killer sustain, while the deluxe locking tuners ensure you stay in tune no matter how hard you play. The alder body with its gloss urethane finish and elegant white binding looks incredible under the lights, especially in the sophisticated Texas Tea color. This is a pro-level instrument through and through, built to inspire.

Anatomy of a Tone Machine

Anatomy of a Tone Machine

Perfect for: Modern Country • Blues • Rock • Pop

Tone

  • Bridge pickup delivers classic Telecaster bite and twang with zero hum.
  • Neck pickup offers warm, clear, and articulate tones perfect for rhythm or smooth leads.
  • Middle position is bouncy and articulate in parallel; engaging the S-1 switch puts the pickups in series for a fatter, punchier, humbucker-like sound.
  • Responds beautifully to your picking dynamics, cleaning up nicely with a lighter touch and snarling when you dig in.

Playing Feel

  • The Alder body feels balanced and comfortable, built for long sessions.
  • The Modern "D" neck profile with a satin finish and rolled rosewood fingerboard edges is incredibly fast and smooth.
  • The compound 10"-14" radius makes it easy to switch between complex chords and soaring single-note lines.
  • Effortless playability thanks to the sculpted neck heel and medium jumbo frets.

Versatility

  • Goes from pristine, glassy cleans to gritty, overdriven rock tones with ease.
  • The noiseless pickups provide a perfect, hum-free platform for any pedalboard.
  • A studio dream, offering a wide palette of classic and modern tones in one guitar.
  • Cuts through a mix with that signature Tele presence, while the S-1 switch adds weight and authority.

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

The S-1 switch is a push-button on the volume knob that changes the pickup wiring. When it’s up (off), the middle position gives you the classic parallel blend of both pickups for that bright, snappy Tele sound. When you press it down (on), it switches the pickups to be wired in series. This creates a much thicker, warmer, and higher-output tone, almost like a humbucker. It’s a fantastic way to get a whole second set of sounds out of one guitar.
It’s the best of both worlds. Near the nut, the fingerboard has a 10-inch radius, which is a bit more curved and feels really comfortable for fretting chords. As you move up the neck toward the body, it gradually flattens out to a 14-inch radius. This flatter surface is ideal for string bending and soloing, as it helps prevent the notes from ‘fretting out’. It makes the guitar feel fast and effortless to play all over the neck.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 14-Day Return Policy. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
Orders ship same day in most cases and arrive within 1-4 business days with free, insured shipping. We’ll get it into your hands as quickly as we can.
