Product Description

Your New Number One

This isn’t just another guitar. The Gibson Les Paul Studio Session is a high-performance evolution of a classic, designed to be the one you reach for every single time. It blends that legendary Les Paul DNA with smart, player-focused upgrades that deliver a staggering range of tones and a feel that’s second to none. Dressed in a gorgeous Honey Burst nitro finish over a stunning AA figured maple top, this guitar looks every bit as good as it sounds.

Vintage Voice, Modern Versatility

At the heart of this beast is a pair of Gibson’s most acclaimed pickups: a ’57 Classic in the neck and a slightly hotter ’57 Classic Plus at the bridge. This combo delivers that coveted PAF warmth and growl, but the magic is in the controls. Each of the four knobs is a push/pull switch, giving you access to coil-tapping for spanky single-coil sounds, phase switching for hollowed-out funky tones, and a pure bypass that sends your bridge pickup straight to the jack for an unfiltered, roaring lead voice.

Effortless Playability

Gibson built this Les Paul to be played all night long. The mahogany body features Ultra-Modern weight relief, making it comfortable and balanced without sacrificing an ounce of that classic sustain. The mahogany neck is carved into a fast SlimTaper profile, and the modern contoured heel provides easy access all the way to the 22nd fret of the slick, bound ebony fingerboard. It’s a neck that feels instantly familiar yet refined for the modern player.

Anatomy of a Tone Machine

Anatomy of a Tone Machine

Perfect for: Rock • Blues • Classic Rock • Pop

Tone

  • Bridge pickup delivers a hotter, punchy PAF tone with incredible bite and harmonic complexity.
  • Neck pickup offers warm, articulate, and creamy tones perfect for smooth leads and rich chords.
  • Middle position is balanced and clear, blending the best of both pickups for rhythm work.
  • Coil-tap provides glassy, chimey single-coil sounds, while the phase switch offers a unique, filtered voice.

Playing Feel

  • Ultra-Modern weight relief makes it noticeably lighter and more comfortable for long gigs.
  • The SlimTaper neck profile and smooth ebony fingerboard feel fast and effortless.
  • Responds instantly to your touch, from a light pick attack to aggressive strumming.
  • The Modern Contoured Heel allows for uninhibited access to the upper frets.

Versatility

  • Goes from warm jazz to screaming rock with the flick of a switch or pull of a knob.
  • A fantastic pedal platform, handling everything from transparent overdrives to high-gain fuzz.
  • The array of pickup options makes it a secret weapon in the studio for layering different guitar sounds.
  • Cuts through a dense mix with authority while still retaining warmth and body.

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

The Pure Bypass function, activated by one of the push/pull tone knobs, routes the bridge pickup directly to the output jack. This bypasses all other controls and circuitry, giving you the most raw, unfiltered, and powerful tone the pickup can produce. It’s like having a built-in lead boost for solos.
Absolutely. The SlimTaper neck profile is one of Gibson’s fastest and most comfortable shapes, perfect for players accustomed to more modern feels. Combined with the contoured heel for upper fret access, it bridges the gap between classic Les Paul feel and contemporary playability beautifully.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 14-Day Return Policy. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
Orders ship same day in most cases and arrive within 1-4 business days with free, insured shipping. We’ll get it into your hands as quickly as we can.
