60s Les Paul bite with endless sustain and a fast, familiar feel

If you hear Les Paul and think singing sustain, vocal mids, and a neck that lets you fly instead of fight, this 60s Standard Unburst is going to feel like home. SlimTaper neck, no weight relief, and a set of 60s Burstbuckers give you that classic Gibson roar with modern tuning stability and reliability.

No weight relief, all mahogany punch and AA maple flash

This is the real deal Les Paul recipe: solid mahogany body with no weight relief for that thick low end and blooming sustain, capped with an AA figured maple top that pops under stage lights. The gloss nitrocellulose lacquer is nice and thin so the guitar actually breathes and resonates instead of feeling like plastic.

At 9.9 pounds it has that authoritative Les Paul feel on the strap, which translates straight into tone. Hit an open chord and you feel the whole body come alive against your chest.

SlimTaper 60s neck that disappears in your hand

The mahogany SlimTaper neck is built for players who like speed and comfort without a baseball bat profile. It fills your hand just enough for control, but stays sleek all the way up the board so fast runs and big stretches feel natural.

A 12 inch rosewood fingerboard and medium jumbo frets hit the sweet spot. Big, controlled bends feel buttery, chords stay comfortable across the neck, and the upper register never fights you.

60s Burstbuckers and hand wired control for real feel

Both pickups are 60s Burstbuckers, so you get that classic PAF inspired voice with a little extra bite on top. The neck pickup is warm and round for glassy cleans and syrupy leads, while the bridge has the cut and grit to punch through a dense mix without going harsh.

The wiring is hand done with Orange Drop capacitors, so every little movement of your volume and tone knobs actually matters. Roll the volumes back for open, glassy cleans, then crank them for thick drive that reacts to your picking hand instead of just going mushy.

Stage ready hardware that stays out of the way

The ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and aluminum stop bar tailpiece lock in sustain and intonation, giving you rock solid tuning even if you dig in hard. Grover Rotomatic tuners with kidney buttons feel smooth and precise every time you tune up.

A Graph Tech nut keeps things stable when you bend or change tunings, and all the nickel hardware and cream appointments keep the look classic. It is the Les Paul silhouette you grew up staring at on album covers, with the reliability you want on modern stages.

The Lowdown

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

The 60s Standard has the SlimTaper neck, so it feels faster and sleeker than a chunky 50s profile. If you like to play higher up the neck, do wide stretches, or just prefer a neck that stays out of your way, this will feel more effortless. Tonally it still has that classic Les Paul thickness, just with a little extra snap and bite on the attack.
No weight relief means the mahogany body is solid, not chambered. You feel that in the way notes bloom and sustain. The low end is thicker, the mids feel more solid, and the guitar seems to “push back” against your picking hand in a good way. It is a little heavier on the strap, but that extra mass is a big part of the classic Les Paul sound.
The 60s Burstbuckers live in that sweet spot between vintage and modern. Clean, they stay articulate with plenty of chime on top. Push them with gain and you get tight lows, focused mids, and a smooth high end that never turns to ice pick. They take pedals really well and respond beautifully when you ride the volume knobs for everything from edge-of-breakup blues to classic rock crunch.
Yes. Photos are of this exact Les Paul Standard 60s Unburst, serial 216850270, including that AA top and the 9.9 lb weight. We know tops and weights matter, so what you see is what shows up at your door. If you want to see a specific angle or closeup, call us and we will snap more pics before you buy.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 72-Hour Love-It Guarantee. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
If you order before 3 PM CST on a weekday, it ships the same day. We’ll get it into your hands fast with free, insured 2-3 day shipping.
