Limited Run Les Paul With Vintage Soul And Modern Fire

If you love a 60s Les Paul Standard but wish it had a little more attitude, this Double Trouble delivers. You get everything that makes the regular 60s Standard a modern classic, plus uncovered double white Burstbuckers and a subtly faded Vintage Cherry Sunburst nitro finish that oozes old school vibe.

This is a limited run, with only 500 guitars made in each color worldwide, so you are not just grabbing another production Les Paul. You are getting a solid, non weight relieved mahogany beast with an AA figured maple top, a fast SlimTaper neck, and a set of hand wired electronics that reward every touch.

Vintage Cherry Sunburst With Subtle Aging

The Vintage Cherry Sunburst finish on this Double Trouble is not your typical brand new, in your face burst. Gibson uses a full gloss nitrocellulose lacquer that is slightly faded compared to their standard finish, like a well loved 60s top that has seen some light over the years.

Each burst pattern is hand sprayed, so the top on this exact guitar is its own thing, not a cookie cutter spray job. Cream binding on the top and fretboard frames the AA figured maple beautifully, while those Double Classic White pickup bobbins give you that classic double white look that players have chased for decades.

Solid Mahogany Punch And AA Maple Top Sparkle

Under the hood you get a solid, non weight relieved mahogany body, which is a big part of why this guitar has so much authority. It hits you with thick, focused low end and a midrange that sings, and at 9.1 lbs it feels substantial without being a boat anchor.

The AA figured maple top adds snap, clarity, and visual drama. Combined with the gloss nitro finish, the whole guitar feels alive in your hands, with notes that bloom and sustain instead of dying off quickly. Real talk, this is the kind of Les Paul that makes you want to hold chords just to hear them ring.

SlimTaper 60s Neck Built For Speed And Control

The mahogany SlimTaper 60s neck is that sweet spot for players who want a fast profile without going super thin. It fills the hand just enough so you can really dig in, but it never fights you when you are ripping through licks or big stretches.

A 12″ rosewood fingerboard radius and 22 medium jumbo frets keep bends smooth and clean all the way up the neck. Acrylic trapezoid inlays give you that classic Les Paul look, and the Graph Tech nut keeps things stable when you lean into big bends and heavy vibrato.

Double Classic White Burstbuckers With Extra Bite

The uncovered Burstbucker 61R and 61T pickups, with their Double Classic White bobbins, are the heart of the Double Trouble concept. They are loaded with Alnico 5 magnets and voiced for tight lows, singing mids, and glassy highs that cut without getting harsh.

Clean tones stay articulate and three dimensional, while overdriven sounds have that chewy Les Paul grind and long, vocal sustain. The hand wired circuit with audio taper pots and Orange Drop capacitors means your volume and tone knobs are actually useful tools. Roll things back and it stays clear instead of turning to mud, which makes this guitar a killer pedal and amp partner.

Pro Hardware, Case, And The Moore Guitars Treatment

Classic hardware keeps everything feeling solid and dependable. An ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece anchor the strings and help with that sustain, while Grover Rotomatic tuners with kidney buttons keep tuning rock solid. The cream pickguard, top hat knobs with silver reflectors and dial pointers, amber switch tip, and cream jack plate nail the vintage vibe.

You also get a hardshell case and Gibson accessory kit so this thing is road ready from day one. From our side, every guitar gets a full Player-Perfect setup, triple inspection before it goes in the box, free 2-3 day shipping, and our 72-Hour Love-It Guarantee. The photos you see are of the actual guitar, serial number 205650061, sitting in our Evansville shop right now and ready to ship.

The Lowdown

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

The Double Trouble keeps all the core 60s Standard ingredients you want: solid, non weight relieved mahogany body, AA maple top, SlimTaper neck, and classic hardware. The big differences are the uncovered Burstbucker 61R/61T pickups with Double Classic White bobbins and the slightly faded Vintage nitro finish. You also get the limited run factor, with only 500 made in each color, so it feels more special than a standard production model.
The SlimTaper 60s profile is thinner and a bit flatter feeling than a chunky 50s neck. It is great if you like fast runs, wide stretches, and smoother thumb-over playing without feeling like you are wrapping around a baseball bat. If you have played modern Gibson 60s style necks and liked them, this will feel instantly familiar and very easy to live with for long sets.
At 9.1 lbs, this sits right in the classic Les Paul zone. It is not a super light, weight relieved guitar, but that extra mass is a big part of why it sustains and feels so solid. With a good, wide strap most players find this weight totally comfortable for full sets, and you get that classic solid body punch in return.
Honestly, both. The uncovered Burstbuckers are clear and articulate enough to sit in a mix without a fight, and the hand wired Orange Drop circuit gives you tons of usable shades just by riding your controls. It tracks great for overdubs and doubles, but it is also built to be a reliable live rig anchor with stable tuning and rock solid hardware.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 72-Hour Love-It Guarantee. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
If you order before 3 PM CST on a weekday, it ships the same day. We’ll get it into your hands fast with free, insured 2-3 day shipping.
