The biggest difference is the neck profile. This ’50s model has the chunkier, rounded ’50s Vintage profile, which a lot of players love for its substantial feel. The ’60s models have a slimmer, faster-playing SlimTaper neck. It really comes down to which style of neck feels better in your hands.

They are designed to replicate the sound of the original PAF (Patent Applied For) humbuckers from the late ’50s, but with a slight variation. They use Alnico II magnets for a warmer, more vintage-flavored tone. The Burstbucker 1 in the neck is slightly under-wound for clarity, while the Burstbucker 2 in the bridge is a bit hotter for more drive and bite, giving you a perfectly calibrated, versatile set.
