TV Yellow, No Nonsense – Les Paul Special With Bite

This is the classic Les Paul Special recipe turned up in all the right ways. Slab mahogany body, dual P 90s and a chunky 50s neck that hits that sweet spot between vintage vibe and modern playability.

If you want that raw, midrange punch that cuts through a loud band without getting mushy, this TV Yellow Special delivers. It is stripped down, honest and built to go from sweaty clubs to studio dates without blinking.

Slab Mahogany Body, TV Yellow Heritage

The solid mahogany, single cut slab body is where that signature roar comes from. It keeps the guitar lively and immediate under your hands, with a fast attack and a focused, vocal midrange that loves overdrive.

The gloss nitrocellulose TV Yellow finish is pure old school Gibson attitude. Nitro lets the wood breathe and resonate in a way thick poly cannot, so you get more bloom, more sustain and a finish that will wear in, not wear out.

50s Vintage Neck That Feels Like Home

The mahogany neck with its 50s Vintage profile has some meat on it, but it is not a baseball bat. It fills your hand in a really satisfying way, which does wonders for sustain and vibrational transfer into that mahogany body.

A bound rosewood fingerboard with a 12 inch radius and 22 medium jumbo frets keeps things smooth for bends, slides and big chords. Acrylic dot inlays keep the look vintage correct and the set neck joint keeps everything feeling solid and resonant under your fingers.

Dual P 90s – Raw, Punchy And Honest

The beauty of this guitar is in the pickups. A P 90 in the bridge gives you that snarling, aggressive grind that still has clarity and top end cut. It is perfect for crunchy classic rock, punk downstrokes and anything that needs attitude.

Flip to the neck and you get a thicker, rounder voice that still has that single coil chime. It is killer for blues, soul lines and warm rhythm parts that do not disappear in the mix. Hand wired electronics with Orange Drop capacitors keep the response dynamic and musical, and the dual volumes and tones plus toggle switch let you fine tune the blend right from the guitar.

Simple Hardware, Serious Resonance

The wraparound bridge keeps string path and contact simple, which means great sustain and a really direct, connected feel. Vintage Deluxe tuners with white buttons and nickel hardware keep things stable and give you that classic Gibson look on the headstock.

Black top hat knobs, black pickguard, black jack plate and trim pull the whole TV Yellow aesthetic together. Strung from the factory with 10 46s, it is ready to cover anything from tight rhythm work to singing leads without feeling flimsy.

Dialed In And Ready From Moore Guitars

The Lowdown

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

P 90s sit right between a classic PAF humbucker and a Fender style single coil. You get more midrange bite and grind than a Strat or Tele pickup, but more clarity and note separation than a full humbucker. On this Special the bridge pickup is all about snarl and cut, while the neck gives you a thicker, rounder sound that still stays articulate. If you like touch sensitivity and riding your volume knob, these pickups are a blast.
It has some shoulder to it, but it is not a boat neck. Real talk, if you are used to super thin shred necks, this will feel beefier at first, but most players adjust in minutes and love how solid and supportive it feels. That extra mass helps sustain and gives your fretting hand something to really grab onto for big bends and vibrato without fatigue.
The TV Yellow finish has that classic slightly muted, vintage pastel vibe in person, not a neon banana yellow. The gloss nitro gives it depth and sheen without looking plasticky. And since our photos are of the actual guitar you are buying, what you see is what shows up at your door, just with more movement and shimmer in the light.
Absolutely. A good wraparound bridge, properly set up, intonates very well across the board and gives you a really direct, resonant feel that a lot of players prefer. Our techs dial in intonation and action as part of the setup, so when it leaves the shop it is ready for both stage and studio without you needing to wrench on it.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 14-Day Return Policy. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
If you order before 3 PM CST on a weekday, it ships the same day. We’ll get it into your hands fast with free, insured 2-3 day shipping.
