Modern Les Paul Power With Endless Control

This Gibson Les Paul Modern in Faded Pelham Blue is built for players who love classic Les Paul punch but want lighter weight, faster feel, and way more tonal flexibility. It keeps the soul of a great LP and adds all the modern tricks that make long gigs, studio sessions, and complex rigs feel effortless.

Ultra Modern Weight Relief, Classic Mahogany Punch

The mahogany body with maple top gives you that familiar Les Paul thump, bloom, and sustain, but the ultra modern weight relief keeps it from being a boat anchor. At 9 pounds it still feels substantial, yet it sits on the shoulder comfortably and resonates freely instead of feeling like a block of concrete.

The gloss nitrocellulose finish lets the wood breathe and age, and in Faded Pelham Blue it just looks dangerous in the best way. Under stage lights this thing pops, but up close it has a slightly broken-in vibe that keeps it from feeling too precious.

Asymmetrical Slim Neck & Compound Radius Ebony Board

The asymmetrical slim taper neck is one of those profiles you notice in the first five minutes and then forget about because it just feels right. It fills your hand a little more on the bass side, stays sleek on the treble side, and the modern contoured heel makes those upper frets feel like home instead of a reach.

The ebony fingerboard with a compound radius lets you run low, clean action without choking out bends. Chords feel solid down low, lead work feels glassy and controlled up high. Medium jumbo frets give you enough meat for expressive vibrato without feeling like speed bumps.

Burstbucker Pro Firepower With Studio-Grade Control

Burstbucker Pro Rhythm in the neck and Burstbucker Pro + in the bridge give you everything from thick, singing sustain to tight, articulate crunch. They stay clear under gain, clean up with the volume knobs, and still have that chewy midrange that makes a Les Paul sit perfectly in a mix.

The electronics are where this guitar really goes into “Swiss Army knife” territory. You get coil-tap on both pickups, phase switching, and a pure bypass mode that sends the bridge pickup straight to the jack. That means legit single-coil snap, quacky out-of-phase textures, and a built-in solo boost, all without touching your pedalboard.

Locked-In Hardware Built For Real-World Use

Grover locking Rotomatic tuners, an aluminum Nashville Tune-O-Matic bridge, and aluminum stopbar tailpiece keep things rock solid and resonant. The Graph Tech nut helps with smooth tuning stability, especially if you live on the bends and vibrato.

Clear top hat knobs, black pickguard, and chrome hardware pull the whole look together. It is modern, sharp, and ready to hit any stage without looking like everyone else’s burst.

The Lowdown

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

The Les Paul Modern keeps the core Les Paul voice but turns up the comfort and flexibility. You get ultra modern weight relief instead of a full solid body, an asymmetrical slim neck with a contoured heel instead of a chunkier vintage carve, and a compound radius ebony board for lower, cleaner action. Tonally, the Burstbucker Pros give you plenty of classic LP growl, but the coil-taps, phase, and pure bypass expand the palette way beyond what a traditional Standard offers. If you want one Les Paul that can cover more ground with less fight, this is it.
Each volume knob is a push/pull coil-tap that lets you flip the Burstbucker humbuckers into single-coil mode for brighter, snappier tones. One tone knob engages phase switching for those hollow, funky, out-of-phase sounds, and the other activates pure bypass, which sends the bridge pickup straight to the jack. That last one is basically a built-in solo boost: louder, clearer, and a little more immediate without touching your pedals or amp.
Yes, but in the best way. You still feel like you are holding a real Les Paul, not a featherweight, but the ultra modern weight relief takes the edge off the shoulder strain, especially on long sets. Acoustically it feels lively and open rather than dead or thuddy. Plugged in, you still get thick mids and sustain, just with a little more comfort and less fatigue by the end of the night.
This one is ideal if you love classic Les Paul tones but play in modern situations where you need flexibility and comfort. Worship players, session players, cover band guitarists, and rock guys who jump from clean ambient parts to high gain will feel right at home. If you are a strict vintage purist who wants a big chunky neck and a solid 10+ pound body, look at a more traditional model. If you want one guitar to cover a ton of ground, this is your friend.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 72-Hour Love-It Guarantee. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
If you order before 3 PM CST on a weekday, it ships the same day. We’ll get it into your hands fast with free, insured 2-3 day shipping.
