Limited-Run 60s Les Paul With Extra Vintage Attitude
If you love a good 60s Les Paul but want something a little rarer and a little meaner, this Les Paul Standard 60s Double Trouble hits that sweet spot. Solid, non weight relieved mahogany, AA figured maple, uncovered Burstbuckers, and a subtly faded Vintage Tobacco Sunburst nitro finish give it that stage-ready, album-cover look and sound right out of the case.
This is a limited-run model, with production capped at only 500 guitars in each color, and you are looking at the actual guitar you will receive. At 9.3 lbs, it feels like a real-deal Les Paul should – substantial, resonant, and full of sustain.
Solid Mahogany Backbone, AA Maple Top, No Weight Relief
The body is classic Les Paul: solid mahogany with no weight relief, topped with a gorgeous AA figured maple cap. That combo gives you thick, singing mids, tight low end, and the kind of natural compression that makes every note feel a little bigger than you played it.
The gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish is a “Vintage” take on Gibson’s standard colors – slightly faded, like a well-loved guitar that has seen a few summers on stage. It is still full-gloss, but the vibe is more gently aged than brand new. Cream binding on the top and fretboard frames the burst and adds that timeless Les Paul elegance.
Uncovered Burstbuckers With Double Classic White Bobbins
The Double Trouble twist comes from the pickups and aesthetics. You get a Burstbucker 61R in the neck and a Burstbucker 61T in the bridge, both uncovered with Double Classic White bobbins and Alnico 5 magnets. Same guts as the standard Burstbuckers, but with that extra bit of cut and attitude you get from exposed coils.
They are hand wired with audio taper pots and Orange Drop capacitors, so the controls feel smooth and musical across the whole sweep. Two volumes, two tones, and a 3-way toggle give you all the classic Les Paul tricks: roll the neck tone back for syrupy, vocal leads, or blend both pickups for that chewy, harmonically rich middle position that records like a dream.
60s SlimTaper Neck and Rosewood 12 Inch Board
The neck is Gibson’s 60s SlimTaper profile: fast and sleek, but not a toothpick. It fills your hand just enough so you can dig in without fighting it, whether you are laying down big open chords or ripping up the neck.
The rosewood fingerboard has a 12 inch radius with 22 medium jumbo frets, so bends feel buttery and controlled without fretting out. Acrylic trapezoid inlays keep the look pure vintage, while the Graph Tech nut and Grover Rotomatic tuners with kidney buttons keep things stable when you lean into the vibrato or go hard on big bends.
Vintage Tobacco Sunburst Nitro With Subtle Fade
The Vintage Tobacco Sunburst finish is where this one really stands apart from a standard Les Paul Standard 60s. The burst is a “vintage” variation – a little more faded, a little more broken in visually, like a clean survivor from the 60s that has seen some sunlight and stage lights. Each burst pattern is hand sprayed, so no two are exactly alike.
Between the double cream binding, classic cream plastics, and those Double Classic White bobbins, this thing looks like it stepped out of an old photo of your favorite guitar hero. It feels familiar under the hands, but the look is just different enough to turn heads.
