Product Description

Rosewood-Rich J-45 Tone That Is Ready For The Studio

If you love the classic J-45 vibe but want a little more low end depth and shimmer on top, this J-45 Studio Rosewood hits that sweet spot. It keeps the round shoulder warmth and feel, then adds rosewood richness, a slimmer body, and an active pickup that is ready for any stage or session.

Sitka Spruce Top With Rosewood Back And Sides

The classic Sitka spruce top gives you that familiar Gibson punch and clarity, with chords that bloom and single notes that pop. Pair that with rosewood back and sides and you get more piano-like low end, extra harmonic complexity, and a smooth top end that stays glassy instead of harsh.

Traditional hand scalloped X-bracing lets the top move freely, so the guitar feels alive under your right hand. Strum it and you feel the whole body light up, not just hear it. It is the kind of responsiveness that makes you want to play longer.

Slim Body Depth For Real-World Comfort

The J-45 Studio Rosewood keeps the iconic round shoulder shape but with a slimmer body depth. That means it tucks in closer to you, sits comfortably under your arm, and does not fight you during long sets or writing sessions on the couch. At around 4.9 pounds, it is light enough that you stop thinking about the guitar and just play.

Whether you are perched on a stool at a songwriter round or standing on stage with a strap, the balance feels dialed in. No neck dive, no fatigue, just a comfortable workhorse that is ready to go all night.

Advanced Response Neck And Flatter 16 Inch Fingerboard

The mahogany neck with the Advanced Response profile is one of Gibson’s best modern shapes. It fills your hand just enough to feel solid and supportive, yet stays fast and forgiving up the neck. No baseball bat, no toothpick, just a very playable middle ground.

The rosewood fingerboard with a 16 inch radius gives you a flatter surface for clean barre chords, controlled bends, and precise fingerstyle. Combined with 20 standard frets and a properly cut Tusq nut, you get smooth playability in every position without buzzing or choking out.

Stage And Studio Ready With Active Under Saddle Pickup

Plug in and you are instantly in the zone. The active under saddle piezo pickup gives you a clear, natural acoustic tone that sits right in a mix without getting quacky or thin. Soundhole mounted controls keep the top clean and resonance-friendly while still letting you tweak on the fly.

The 1/4 inch endpin jack keeps things tidy for live use and studio tracking. Run it straight into a PA, acoustic amp, or interface and you have a dependable, feedback resistant sound that engineers and sound techs actually like working with.

Hand-Built Gibson Craft With Moore Guitars TLC

This J-45 Studio Rosewood is hand-built with a gloss nitrocellulose finish, multi ply top binding, single ply back binding, and quality hardware like Grover Rotomatic tuners with kidney buttons. The traditional belly up bridge with Tusq saddle and pins keeps intonation solid and helps every note ring true.

The Lowdown

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

The big differences are in the wood and the feel. A standard J-45 uses mahogany back and sides and a full-depth body. This Studio Rosewood model swaps in rosewood back and sides for more low end depth and shimmer, and uses a slimmer body depth that feels more comfortable against your body. You still get that classic J-45 midrange punch, but with a more modern, studio-friendly voice and a very easy playing feel.
The slim body depth is a game changer if you play for more than a few minutes at a time. It hugs in closer, so your picking arm is more relaxed and your shoulder does not have to reach as far. At around 4.9 pounds it is also lighter than a lot of traditional dreadnoughts. If you do songwriter rounds, worship sets, or long rehearsals, this design really helps reduce fatigue.
The active under saddle piezo is voiced to keep things natural and clear. You get good note definition for fingerstyle, and big strums still sound full without turning into mud. The soundhole-mounted controls make it easy to tweak volume and tone on the fly without cutting huge holes in the side of the guitar. Engineers and worship sound techs tend to like this kind of system because it is predictable, quiet, and sits in the mix easily.
Yes, the photos are of the actual Gibson J-45 Studio Rosewood you will receive, serial number 20595070. It comes with a Gibson hardshell case and a Gibson accessory kit. On top of that, we include a FREE Pro Setup (a 100 dollar value) and triple-check the guitar before it leaves our shop so you have zero surprises when you open the case.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 72-Hour Love-It Guarantee. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
If you order before 3 PM CST on a weekday, it ships the same day. We’ll get it into your hands fast with free, insured 2-3 day shipping.
