A few notes from the Moore Guitars staff:
Before we get into the “hard specs” of this particular guitar, let's get an overall, holistic view of this instrument. First of all - this color/model was a special run by Gibson - offered for a very short time through a small number of authorized Gibson dealers! Once these are gone, they are GONE! Okay - now on to the guitar....
Dreadnought body shapes are known to offer volume and power, but there still needs to be the proper balance between volume, tone, and projection! This Hummingbird model utilizes square shoulders which enhances note clarity and balances dynamics. Without this, it would be a Herculean task to amplify, mic, or even control the balance of "tone-vs.-volume". A square-shouldered body shape can help focus lows, and control "muddiness" that can sometimes creep into a "round shouldered" body cavity. (Remember that body shape is your "speaker cabinet"!)
Two very important factors that can sometimes get overlooked: 1) this guitar features the original Hummingbird’s slightly deeper body depth for fuller sound and additional sustain; and 2) The scale length of this guitar is 24.75" (normally acoustic guitars are 25.5"). This is the same scale length as an electric Gibson Les Paul! What that means to you is an entirely different string "feel". The tension of the string "at pitch" is entirely different and provides an amazing tactile playing experience. L.R. Baggs™ VTC active under-saddle piezo pickup to give you easy control over both tone AND volume; satin nitrocellulose finish that will allow your guitar to age gracefully like all vintage Gibson's of the past, and a Gibson Hard Shell Case just add to the value of this wonderful instrument!

Notes from Gibson:
Much of the Hummingbird’s appeal lies in its versatility. No matter how you attack this flat-top, it pumps out rich, deep tones, and is equally at home strumming first-position chords as it is taking the spotlight for picking lead lines. Its spacious mahogany body and sweet, select Sitka spruce top are more than capable of nailing down the rhythm in the hands of a rock and roll sideman or accompanying the most nuanced performance under the fingers of today’s alternative singer-songwriter. The Hummingbird's mahogany neck has a comfortable rounded profile and mother of pearl parallelogram inlays. This 'bird has a TUSQ® nut, saddle, and bridge pins, Grover® Rotomatic® tuners, the iconic Hummingbird™ graphics on the pickguard, and is equipped with LR Baggs® VTC electronics, so it's ready to plug in on stage or in the studio. A Gibson hardshell case is included.
