The People’s Champion of Tone
Stripped down, resonant, and unapologetically raw—this is the Les Paul Junior. It’s a guitar built for one purpose: to deliver the most direct, pure, and punchy rock and roll tone imaginable. This pre-owned Gibson Custom Shop ’57 Les Paul Junior Singlecut VOS is a stunning recreation of that legendary formula. It’s in excellent condition and ready to unleash its fury. No frills, no fancy tops, just a slab of mahogany and one screaming P-90 pickup that defined the sound of countless records.
The Heart of the Beast: One P-90
It’s all you need. The single, dog-eared P-90 in the bridge position is the secret sauce. This pickup is famous for its unique blend of single-coil bite and humbucker-style fatness. Crank your amp and it snarls with a gritty, harmonically rich overdrive. Roll the volume back, and it cleans up beautifully, offering a glassy, articulate voice that’s incredibly responsive to your picking dynamics. It’s a masterclass in how much tonal variety you can get from a simple, elegant design.
Feels Like Home: The ’57 Neck & Body
This is where Gibson’s golden era comes to life. The solid mahogany body provides the warmth and midrange punch that is the bedrock of the Les Paul sound. The neck is a proper handful in the best way possible, with a chunky profile measuring .9” at the first fret and filling out to a full 1” by the 12th. Paired with a smooth rosewood fingerboard and True Historic fretwire, it’s a neck that invites you to dig in and play with authority. The short neck tenon construction ensures maximum resonance and sustain—you can feel chords ring through the entire instrument.
VOS: Vintage Original Spec
The Aniline Dye finish isn’t just about color; it’s about letting the wood breathe. The VOS treatment gives the aged nickel hardware and the finish a gently-worn patina, making it feel like an old friend right out of the case. From the Kluson tuners with white buttons to the simple-yet-effective wrap-around tailpiece, every detail is a nod to the timeless design of 1957.
