Product Description

Vintage Vibe, Thunderous Tone

Straight out of the groovy ’70s, the Squier Classic Vibe Telecaster Bass is a throwback to one of Fender’s coolest and most elusive low-end machines. This isn’t just a reissue; it’s a full-on resurrection of the humbucker-equipped beast that defined a decade of funk, rock, and soul. The rich Mocha finish and classic Tele headstock give it an undeniable old-school cool that feels right at home on any stage.

Massive Tone, Effortless Playability

At the heart of this bass is a single, potent Fender-Designed Alnico Wide Range humbucker slammed right up against the neck. This pickup is the secret sauce, delivering a huge, thunderous tone that’s surprisingly versatile. It’s got all the warm, wooly thump you could want, but with an articulate top-end that cuts through a mix without getting muddy. The master volume and tone controls are all you need to dial in everything from deep, pillowy lows to gritty, driven growl.

Built for the Player

The playability is pure Fender—smooth, comfortable, and ready for hours-long sessions. The 34″ scale Maple neck features a comfortable “C” Shape profile and a modern 9.5″ radius fingerboard that feels just right. A tinted gloss urethane finish gives it that perfectly aged look and a buttery-smooth feel, while the poplar body is lightweight and resonant. Finished with vintage-style hardware and a 4-saddle bridge, this bass is as reliable as it is cool.

Anatomy of a Tone Machine

Anatomy of a Tone Machine

Perfect for: Rock • Funk • Soul • Indie

Tone

  • Deep, powerful, and warm with a rich low-end fundamental
  • Articulate and clear, avoiding the 'mud' of other neck-position humbuckers
  • Responds beautifully to your attack—play soft for mellow tones, dig in for aggressive grit
  • Roll the tone knob back for classic, thumpy old-school bass sounds

Playing Feel

  • Comfortable and balanced, with a lightweight poplar body
  • The "C" shape neck profile is substantial but not too chunky, fitting for any playing style
  • The tinted gloss neck finish provides a smooth, fast-playing surface
  • Easy access to all 20 frets for effortless runs up and down the neck

Versatility

  • Excels at clean, foundational bass lines with incredible depth
  • Loves fuzz and overdrive pedals, turning into a gritty rock monster
  • Records with a huge, room-filling presence that sits perfectly in a track
  • Cuts through a dense mix with authority and warmth

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

Great question. The Wide Range humbucker has a fatter, warmer tone than a standard P-Bass pickup, with a bit less midrange bark. It’s much thicker and deeper than a J-Bass bridge pickup, giving you a huge foundational tone that’s all its own. It’s perfect for players who want a massive, round sound.
While you can definitely slap on it, its real strength is in fingerstyle and pick playing. The neck-position pickup placement gives it a warm, booming character that excels at laying down a solid groove. If you’re looking for a bright, modern slap tone, a Jazz Bass might be more your speed, but for fat, funky thumb work, this Tele Bass delivers.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 14-Day Return Policy. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
If you order before 3 PM CST on a weekday, it ships the same day. We’ll get it into your hands fast with free, insured 2-3 day shipping.
