Late 60s Strat Attitude With Real Road-Worn Soul
This Fender Custom Shop 1967 Stratocaster Heavy Relic in Aged Black is what happens when you take a late 60s Strat vibe and fast forward it through decades of stages, sweat, and songs. It looks and feels like it has already lived a lifetime, but plays and stays in tune like a brand new Custom Shop weapon.
The alder 66 Strat style body, rift sawn maple neck, and AAA rosewood board give you that classic Fender snap and bloom with a touch of warmth. The hand-wound pickup set turns it into a serious tone scalpel that can cut, sing, or lay back in the pocket depending on how hard you dig in.
Heavy Relic Aged Black Alder Body
The alder body keeps things balanced and familiar under the hands and over the shoulder. At 7.6 pounds it hits that sweet spot where it feels solid and resonant but will not punish you through a three hour set.
The Heavy Relic Aged Black finish is all about vibe and feel. The checking, wear, and exposed wood are done to feel natural, not like a prop. You get the visual drama of a road warrior Strat along with that played in comfort from the first chord.
66 Oval C Neck That Disappears In Your Hand
The rift sawn maple neck is rock solid, with a 66 Stratocaster Oval C profile that measures .850 inches at the first fret and .910 inches at the twelfth. It fills your hand enough to anchor bends and vibrato but never feels like a baseball bat.
Up top you get the big 67 style headstock, early 60s truss rod, 64-67 decal, and 60 scoop to complete the late 60s look. The AAA rosewood fingerboard with a 9.50 inch radius and 21 narrow tall 6105 frets makes wide bends and precise intonation feel effortless.
Hand-Wound 69, Fat 50, And Texas Special Pickups
This pickup set is a tone nerd’s dream. In the neck you get a hand-wound 69 Strat pickup that delivers glassy highs and piano like low end that stay clear even with gain. The middle is a hand-wound Fat 50 RWRP that thickens things up and gives you hum cancelling in positions 2 and 4.
The bridge is a hand-wound Texas Special that has extra mid push and bite so your leads and riffs jump out of the mix without getting ice picky. Wired up with Modern Stratocaster Vintage Mod Wiring #2, a 5 way switch, and 250K 10 percent taper pots, this Strat responds to every little move of your volume and tone knobs.
Custom Shop Hardware Built To Work, Night After Night
The Custom Shop vintage Stratocaster bridge and matching relic mounting keep things feeling familiar under your picking hand while staying rock solid for tuning stability. Vintage Fender logo tuners are lightly reliced to match the guitar and feel smooth and precise.
A 63-76 Stratocaster GBG nitro pickguard, nylon string tree, and vintage style output jack keep the whole thing visually and functionally locked into that late 60s world. It is all the small correct details that make this feel like a real era piece instead of just a tribute.
