Vintage 63 Strat soul with real road-worn feel and zero vintage drama
If you love early 60s Strats but do not love six-figure vintage prices, this Custom Shop 1963 Stratocaster Super Heavy Relic hits that sweet spot. It has the glassy, bell-like top, woody mids, and percussive snap you hear on your favorite records, wrapped in a finish that feels like it has done decades of stages already.
The ash body is hit with a super thin lacquer and an unapologetically aggressive relic that is all about tone and feel, not fake abuse. At 7.9 pounds it has enough mass to sustain and bloom, but it still feels alive against your ribcage when you dig in.
Super thin ash body & Super Heavy Relic finish
This is a classic 60s Strat formula with a twist: an ash body under a Super Faded Black over 3-Color Sunburst finish, worn down to the wood in all the right places. The super thin body lacquer lets that ash ring instead of choking it under a thick gloss coat.
The Super Heavy Relic treatment means deep wear, honest checking, and hardware that looks like it has seen a lifetime of sweat and stage lights. In the hands it just feels right: edges are rounded, forearm contour is smooth, and the guitar feels like an old friend from the first chord.
Rift sawn 63 C neck with AAA rosewood board
The rift sawn maple neck is built for stability and feel. The 63 Strat style C carve starts around .830 at the first fret and fills out to a full 1.00 at the 12th, so your hand always has something comfortable to grab without turning into a baseball bat.
Up top you get an AAA rosewood fingerboard with a 9.5 inch radius and 21 narrow tall 6105 frets. Bends feel buttery, chords stay comfy across the neck, and those vintage clay face and side dots give you that straight up early 60s vibe every time you glance down.
Hand-wound 60/63 pickups & Fat 50s 1/2 blend wiring
The hand-wound 60/63 Strat set is the heart of this guitar. The bridge has that bright, cutting bite that still keeps some meat on the bone, the neck is wide, glassy, and piano-like, and the RWRP middle keeps your in-between positions clear and quiet.
The Fat 50s Strat 1/2 blend wiring gives you extra shades that stock Strats just do not have. You can subtly blend in the neck with the bridge, or fine-tune how much chime and cut you want in those in-between spots. The 250K 10 percent taper pots make the volume and tone controls feel musical across the whole range, not just from 8 to 10.
Relic vintage hardware that is built to work, not just look cool
Under your picking hand is a Custom Shop vintage Strat bridge with a relic tremolo and upgraded 60s style arm that feels smooth and responsive. Paired with the relic vintage Fender logo tuners and metal spring string tree, it holds tune the way a great Strat should, even if you lean on the bar.
The 63-76 Strat GBG nitro relic pickguard and aged hardware tie the whole look together so nothing feels out of place. It looks like a lifer guitar, but every screw, saddle, and fret is dialed in for modern reliability.
