Moore Guitars in Evansville Indiana is proud to present to you this amazing new Fender Custom Shop 1957 Stratocaster Heavy Relic in Aged Fiesta Red! Featuring Hand-Wound Tomatillo Relic pickups with a Middle Reverse Wrapped coil and Vintage Mod Wiring #2 (So - what's this mean? Well - it means a whole lot more control over your tone! Your 5 position switch acts as you would normally think, but the controls are slightly different: MASTER VOLUME w/TONE-SAVER BLEED; Center tone control is for middle and neck pickup in positions 2,3,4,and 5. 2nd Tone control is for position 1 and 2 bridge pickup. This gives you TONS more control over the tonal spectrum and with the tone-saver bleed volume control you'll never be at a loss for great tone!
Speaking of Tone - Tomatillo Pickups......yes please! Per Fender's site:
Hand wound by Josefina, the Master Pickup Winder at the Fender Custom Shop. These are simply the best that money can buy. These pickups have some sweet heat to them. A little more oomph than a Vintage Voiced Pickup the Tomatillo's won't melt faces with their heat but they will push a tube amp into drive mode just a little ahead of schedule. If you like a Texas Special but with slightly softer highs and the ability to sweeten up with a little volume and tone control work.
This trio of Hand Wound Tomatillo single-coil pickups share the same lineage as our Ancho Poblano and El Diablo pickups. Clean-sounding, with plenty of chime, the Tomatillo pickups are crafted around alnico 2 magnets, simulating what an aged alnico 5 pickup from the ‘50s might sound like today.
