Product Description

The Evolution of a Legend: The Ultra II Strat

Meet the Fender American Ultra II Stratocaster—a guitar that feels both familiar and entirely new. Fender took the iconic Strat platform and supercharged it with modern appointments for the player who demands precision, versatility, and flawless performance. The select alder body resonates with that classic Fender tone you know and love, while the sculpted rear contours and tapered neck heel make this one of the most comfortable and accessible Strats you’ll ever pick up. Dressed in a stunning Sinister Red gloss finish, it’s a guitar that looks as serious as it sounds.

The Fastest Neck in the West

From the first moment you pick it up, the neck feels like it was made for you. The Modern “D” profile is slim and fast, with wide shoulders that feel substantial without getting in the way. It’s carved from quartersawn maple for incredible stability and finished with a silky Ultra Satin Urethane that’s a pure joy to play—no stickiness, just speed. Add in the 10″-14″ compound radius and Ultra-rolled edges on the quartersawn maple fingerboard, and you have a neck that’s built for effortless chording down low and lightning-fast, choke-free bends up high. And for those dark stages? The Luminlay side dots have got your back.

Classic Tone, Zero Hum

This is where the magic really happens. The Ultra II is loaded with a trio of Ultra II Noiseless™ Vintage Strat® pickups. Fender has engineered these to deliver that sweet, crystalline, authentic single-coil sparkle without any of the 60-cycle hum that can plague vintage designs. From glassy neck-pickup cleans to a bridge pickup with serious bite, it’s all here. But Fender didn’t stop there. The S-1™ switch, cleverly hidden in the volume knob, adds the neck pickup to positions 1 and 2, unlocking thick, Tele-like tones and full-bodied lead sounds you just can’t get from a standard Strat. It’s a universe of tone at your fingertips.

Road-Ready, Rock-Solid Hardware

The appointments on this guitar are all pro-grade. The 2-Point American Ultra Synchronized Tremolo features a cold-rolled steel block for massive sustain and polished stainless steel saddles for a smooth feel. Combined with the pop-in tremolo arm, it provides stable, expressive vibrato. Up top, the Deluxe Cast/Sealed Locking tuners and a Graph Tech TUSQ nut ensure rock-solid tuning stability, even through heavy trem use and aggressive playing. This guitar is built to perform, night after night.

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

The S-1 Switch is a push-button built into the volume knob that activates an alternate wiring scheme. On this Ultra II Strat, it adds the neck pickup into positions 1 and 2. This gives you the bridge and neck pickups together—like a Telecaster’s middle position—or all three pickups at once for a massive, unique sound you can’t get on a standard Strat.
They sound remarkably authentic. Fender engineered them to capture the chime, sparkle, and bell-like tones of a true vintage Strat pickup, but without the annoying 60-cycle hum. You get all the classic character and dynamic response, making them perfect for both clean playing and high-gain applications where traditional single-coils would get noisy.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 72-Hour Love-It Guarantee. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
If you order before 3 PM CST on a weekday, it ships the same day. We’ll get it into your hands fast with free, insured 2-3 day shipping.
