Product Description

A Tele with Attitude and Bite

To celebrate 75 years of the guitar that started it all, Fender went and did something beautifully audacious. They took the iconic Telecaster platform, dressed it in a stunning Candy Apple Red finish, and loaded it with a pair of TV Jones TV Classic pickups. The result is the American Professional Classic Cabronita, a guitar that blends vintage cool with a fiery, modern spirit. This isn’t your granddad’s twang machine; it’s a stripped-down rock ‘n’ roll beast with a unique voice that demands to be heard.

Gretsch Growl Meets Fender Snap

The heart and soul of the Cabronita are its dual TV Jones TV Classic pickups. Forget what you think you know about Tele tones. These pickups deliver a punchy, articulate character with a top-end sparkle and a gritty midrange growl that’s pure rockabilly bliss. They have that classic Gretsch-style chime and jangle, but when pushed, they bloom into a rich, harmonic overdrive that cleans up beautifully with just a roll of the volume knob.

Modern Playability, Classic Feel

Fender knows how to make a neck that feels like home, and this one is no exception. The Modern “C” profile is a player-favorite for a reason, offering a comfortable grip that’s substantial enough for chording but sleek enough for fast runs. The maple neck is finished in a smooth satin urethane that feels broken-in from the first note, while the 9.5″ radius fingerboard and 22 medium jumbo frets provide a perfect surface for effortless bending and vibrato. It’s pure American-made quality, built for the working musician.

Anatomy of a Tone Machine

Anatomy of a Tone Machine

Perfect for: Rockabilly • Indie Rock • Blues • Modern Country

Tone

  • Bridge pickup delivers a bright, punchy attack with a snarling midrange grit.
  • Neck pickup is warm and articulate, perfect for glassy chords and smooth leads.
  • The middle position offers a chimey, slightly hollowed-out jangle that's rich in character.
  • Responds beautifully to pick attack, cleaning up with a light touch and roaring when you dig in.

Playing Feel

  • The alder body is resonant and well-balanced, feeling comfortable on a strap or in your lap.
  • The satin-finished Modern "C" neck is fast and familiar, a true player's neck.
  • Effortless string bending and a slinky feel thanks to the 9.5" radius and medium jumbo frets.
  • A stripped-down, high-performance machine built for long nights on stage.

Versatility

  • Excels at everything from clean, sparkly jangle to overdriven, gritty rock tones.
  • A fantastic pedal platform, taking fuzz, delay, and modulation incredibly well.
  • In the studio, its unique voice cuts through a dense mix without being harsh.
  • Covers a surprising amount of ground, from indie rock and blues to rockabilly and alt-country.

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

Cabronita is Spanish slang that roughly translates to ‘little devil,’ and it’s a fitting name. The main differences are the pickups, which are typically Gretsch-style humbuckers like these TV Jones Classics instead of traditional single-coils, and the simplified electronics, often just a single volume knob and a pickup switch. This gives the Cabronita a hotter, punchier, and more aggressive voice than a typical Tele.
They’re in a class of their own. TV Jones Classics have more midrange warmth and growl than a standard Tele single-coil but more top-end sparkle and clarity than a typical humbucker. They give this guitar a unique, chimey character that’s perfect for styles that need both cut and body, like rockabilly, indie rock, and blues.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 14-Day Return Policy. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
Orders ship same day in most cases and arrive within 1-4 business days with free, insured shipping. We’ll get it into your hands as quickly as we can.
