Product Description

The Working Musician’s Strat

This isn’t just another Stratocaster. This is a pre-owned 2013 American Standard, a guitar from an era many players consider a high point for Fender’s production models. It represents the perfect fusion of timeless design and modern playability, built in Corona, California, for musicians who demand reliability and classic tone night after night. This one comes to us in good condition, ready for its next chapter and loaded with some serious sonic upgrades.

Custom Shop Fat ’50s Pickups

The heart of this Strat is its trio of Fender Custom Shop Fat ’50s single-coil pickups. This was a stock feature for this model year and a massive upgrade over standard offerings. They deliver a boosted bass response without the harsh mids, giving you a slightly overwound ’50s character that’s full of warmth, clarity, and that iconic glassy snap. From searing blues bends to funky rhythm chords, these pickups provide a dynamic and articulate voice that sings with rich harmonic detail. The middle pickup is reverse-wound for hum-canceling in positions 2 and 4, cleaning up your sound right where you need it.

Modern Playability, Classic Feel

The neck is where this guitar truly connects with the player. It features a Modern “C” profile that feels comfortable and familiar in the hand, suitable for any playing style. The back of the maple neck has a smooth satin urethane finish for fast, friction-free movement, while the headstock face remains gloss for a classic look. The 9.5″ radius rosewood fingerboard and 22 medium jumbo frets complete the package, offering a perfect surface for easy string bending and intricate chord work without fretting out.

Rock-Solid American Standard Hardware

Every component is built for performance. The 2-point synchronized tremolo bridge with bent steel saddles provides a smooth, stable vibrato action and excellent tuning stability. Combined with the deluxe staggered cast/sealed tuners, you can add expressive shimmers or deep dives to your playing with confidence. The 4-bolt neck plate includes a Micro-Tilt adjustment, allowing for precise setup of the neck angle, a pro-level feature for dialing in your perfect action.

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

They are a significant upgrade over standard single-coils. They’re wound for a stronger bass response and a touch more output, giving you a warmer, fuller ’50s tone that’s incredibly dynamic. They offer that classic Strat ‘spank’ and clarity, but with more body and less harshness.
It’s a very comfortable, crowd-pleasing profile. It’s not too thick and not too thin, fitting naturally in your hand whether you’re playing chords or lead lines. The satin finish on the back is a key feature, as it prevents your hand from sticking and allows for very smooth, fast playing all the way up the neck.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 14-Day Return Policy. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
Orders ship same day in most cases and arrive within 1-4 business days with free, insured shipping. We’ll get it into your hands as quickly as we can.
