Gibson Custom Attitude, Epiphone Price Tag
If you have always wanted that tuxedo Les Paul Custom but not the Custom Shop price, this is the one that finally closes the gap. Solid mahogany body, maple cap, ebony board, Gibson USA pickups, and all the right appointments, without draining your gear budget.
Solid Mahogany Punch With Maple Bite
The body is classic Les Paul formula: solid mahogany for thick, singing mids and endless sustain, topped with a maple cap that adds snap and cut. You feel that woody resonance unplugged, and plugged in it gives you that familiar wall of tone that still stays articulate.
The gloss ebony finish and multi-ply binding give you the full tuxedo treatment. Seven-ply top binding, five-ply back and headstock, and bound fretboard mean this thing looks every bit as high-end as the guitar it is inspired by the second you open the case.
Gibson USA 490R / 498T: Muscle And Sophistication
Under the hood you are not getting generic humbuckers, you are getting real Gibson USA 490R and 498T pickups. The neck 490R is warm and smooth with enough clarity to keep complex chords from turning to mush, perfect for blues, worship, and clean rhythms.
The 498T bridge has tight low end, aggressive upper mids, and enough output to push any amp into sweet, singing overdrive. Hand-wired CTS pots, Mallory caps, and Switchcraft switch and jack mean the signal path is studio ready right out of the box. Real talk, this is Custom Shop style electronics in a working player’s price range.
Modern Medium C Neck That Just Feels Right
The one piece mahogany neck with a Modern Medium C profile hits that sweet spot between vintage heft and modern comfort. It fills your hand enough to anchor bends and vibrato, but it will not fight you on long sets or three-hour rehearsals.
The ebony fretboard and 12 inch radius make bends feel buttery and smooth. Twenty-two medium jumbo frets give you easy string control without feeling chunky, and the Graph Tech nut keeps tuning solid when you dig in. At around 9 pounds it has that classic Les Paul authority, but it balances well on a strap so you get sustain without shoulder regret.
Inspired By Gibson Custom, Built To Be Played Hard
This series is part of Epiphone’s collaboration with Gibson Custom, and you can see it in the details. Long tenon set neck for better transfer of vibration, Gibson style open book headstock with split diamond inlay, and gold hardware that looks as good under stage lights as it does in your studio.
Mother of pearl block inlays, black speed knobs, and that 5 ply black pickguard keep the vibe pure Les Paul Custom. This is not a stripped-down budget LP, it is a full-dress workhorse that can go from church stage to rock club to cover band gig without breaking a sweat.
