Product Description

A Modern Les Paul with a Fiery Soul

This isn’t your grandpa’s Les Paul, unless your grandpa is awesome. The Epiphone Futura Les Paul Custom takes the iconic formula, the mahogany and maple warmth that we all know and love, and injects it with pure, modern performance. The first thing you’ll notice is the stunning Firestorm Shift finish. It’s a chameleon, shifting and shimmering under the lights, ensuring all eyes are on you. But the real magic starts when you plug it in.

High-Output, High-Clarity Tone

At the heart of this beast is a pair of Epiphone ProBucker Ignite humbuckers. These pickups are voiced for today’s player, offering a higher output that pushes your amp into sweet overdrive, but without sacrificing clarity or definition. You get tight lows, punchy mids, and articulate highs, making it perfect for everything from searing leads to complex chords that need to ring out. The real fun begins with the controls, two volumes and two tones, each with a push/pull function for coil-splitting and phase switching. This unlocks a massive palette of sounds, from classic humbucker roar to spanky single-coil bite and the funky, hollowed-out tones of out-of-phase wiring.

Effortless Playability

Epiphone built this guitar to be played, hard. The mahogany neck is carved into a comfortable Modern C profile that feels just right. It’s topped with a slick ebony fingerboard featuring a 10″-14″ compound radius. This means it’s comfortable for chording down low and flattens out as you move up the neck for effortless, choke-free string bends. Add in 22 durable stainless steel frets and a contoured heel for upper-fret access, and you have a guitar that practically plays itself.

Rock-Solid Hardware

From top to bottom, the Futura Les Paul Custom is built for reliability. It features a classic LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and Stop Bar tailpiece combo for killer sustain and precise intonation. Up at the headstock, a set of Grover Locking Rotomatic tuners and a Graph Tech nut work together to provide phenomenal tuning stability, so you can play with confidence all night long. It even ships in a premium Epiphone gig bag, ready for the studio or the stage.

Anatomy of a Tone Machine

Tone

  • Bridge pickup delivers a powerful, articulate punch with tight lows and cutting highs, perfect for aggressive riffing and soaring leads.
  • Neck pickup offers a warm, clear, and full-bodied voice that's great for smooth solos and rich, clean passages.
  • Coil-splitting provides glassy, single-coil spank, while the phase switch unlocks those classic, hollow "quack" tones.
  • Responds beautifully to your picking dynamics, cleaning up nicely when you roll back the volume and screaming when you dig in.

Playing Feel

  • The classic Les Paul shape feels substantial and balanced, with modern weight relief for added comfort during long gigs.
  • The Modern C neck profile combined with the compound radius ebony fingerboard is a player's dream, offering a smooth, fast surface for any style.
  • Highly responsive to both light touches and heavy-handed playing, with excellent sustain and resonance you can feel in your hands.
  • Designed for marathon sessions, the comfortable neck and effortless upper-fret access prevent playing fatigue.

Versatility

  • A true chameleon, it moves from warm, vintage cleans to high-gain modern saturation with just a flick of a switch.
  • The high-output but clear ProBuckers provide a fantastic platform for pedals, handling fuzz, overdrive, and modulation with ease.
  • In the studio, the coil-split and phase options make it a secret weapon for layering tracks and finding the perfect sonic space.
  • Cuts through a dense mix with authority, whether you're using the full-throated humbucker roar or the articulate single-coil snap.

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

It’s the best of both worlds. The fingerboard has a rounder 10-inch radius down by the nut, which makes playing chords feel more natural and comfortable. As you go up the neck for solos, it gradually flattens out to a 14-inch radius, which lets you bend strings to the moon without them fretting out. It’s a modern feature that makes a huge difference in playability.
Extremely versatile. In their standard humbucker mode, they’re hot, clear, and articulate. Pull up the volume pots to split the coils, and you get crisp, snappy single-coil tones that are great for funk, pop, or cleaner blues. Pull up the tone pots to engage the phase switch, and you can get that hollowed-out, almost vocal-like tone that’s instantly recognizable. It’s like having multiple guitars in one.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 14-Day Return Policy. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
Orders ship same day in most cases and arrive within 1-4 business days with free, insured shipping. We’ll get it into your hands as quickly as we can.
