Product Description

The Perfect Grab-and-Go Taylor

Meet the Taylor Big Baby BBTe, a guitar that punches way above its weight class. This isn’t just a travel guitar; it’s a serious musical tool that just happens to be incredibly comfortable and portable. This particular piece is in excellent condition and is ready for a new home. With its torrefied spruce top and versatile electronics, it’s an inspiring partner for songwriting sessions, campfire jams, and intimate gigs.

Torrefied Top for Aged-In Tone

The magic starts with the solid torrefied Sitka spruce top. Taylor’s special roasting process ages the wood, giving it the warm, responsive, and articulate character of a vintage instrument right out of the box. Every note you play has a beautiful bloom and clarity. Paired with layered walnut back and sides, the sound is focused, warm, and surprisingly powerful for its 15/16-size dreadnought body.

Stage-Ready ES-B Electronics

When you’re ready to plug in, the onboard Taylor ES-B electronics deliver a faithful and natural-sounding amplified tone. The system includes a simple and effective 3-band EQ for shaping your sound, along with a master volume control. Best of all, it features a built-in digital chromatic tuner, so you’re always ready to play in perfect tune.

Effortless Playability

Taylor built their reputation on playability, and the Big Baby is a prime example. The maple neck has a comfortable, slim feel with a smooth matte finish that never gets sticky. The 25-1/2″ scale length feels familiar and provides excellent string tension for a snappy response, while the slightly narrower body depth makes it a joy to play for hours on end.

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

Torrefaction is a wood roasting process that mimics the natural aging of tonewood. It gives this Big Baby the warm, open, and responsive sound of a much older, well-played guitar. You get a richer, more complex tone from day one.
It’s about 15/16 the size of a standard dreadnought, so it’s slightly smaller and has a thinner body depth. This makes it much more comfortable to play, especially for smaller players or when you’re relaxing on the couch. Sonically, it has a surprisingly big voice that comes very close to a full-size guitar, just with a slightly more focused character.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 14-Day Return Policy. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
Orders ship same day in most cases and arrive within 1-4 business days with free, insured shipping. We’ll get it into your hands as quickly as we can.
