Product Description

Warm acoustic power with Taylor playability and plug in ready tone

If you want that seasoned, opened up acoustic sound without waiting ten years, this Taylor 110ce-S will feel like cheating in the best way. The torrefied solid spruce top already has that broken in warmth and sweetness, and it is paired with Taylor’s easy playing neck and rock solid electronics.

The layered sapele body keeps things punchy, focused, and tough enough for real life travel and humidity swings. Put it all together and you get a Grand Auditorium that covers strumming, fingerstyle, and worship sets without breaking a sweat.

Torrefied spruce top for broken in warmth and clarity

That solid torrefied spruce top is the secret sauce. The special roasting process chases out the moisture and tension so it reacts more like a well loved vintage top, with quicker response, extra warmth, and a sweet top end that never gets harsh.

Because the top is solid, it keeps opening up the more you play. Real talk, this is the kind of guitar that sounds good on day one and just keeps getting better as the years and gigs stack up.

Grand Auditorium body that does everything well

Taylor’s Grand Auditorium shape hits that sweet spot between dreadnought power and concert comfort. There is enough low end for full strums, but the mids stay clear and the highs stay glassy, so your chords and lines never mush together.

Whether you are backing a singer, leading worship, writing at home, or tracking in the studio, this body shape gives you a balanced, record ready voice that fits in any mix.

Taylor neck feel for effortless playing

The maple neck with Taylor’s slim profile feels instantly familiar and fast, even if you are coming from an electric. Chords up the neck feel relaxed, barre chords do not fight you, and long sets are no problem.

The West African ebony fingerboard gives you that smooth, classy feel under your fingertips, and the 20 fret layout keeps things clean and focused for acoustic work.

ES2 electronics and road ready construction

The factory installed Expression System 2 pickup and preamp give you a natural, mic like plug in tone without the feedback drama. It reacts to your touch, keeps the warmth of that torrefied top, and drops straight into a PA, acoustic amp, or interface with no fuss.

Layered sapele back and sides mean this guitar stays more stable through weather and travel than a full solid wood build. At around 4.2 pounds with a lightweight gig bag included, it is an easy grab and go rig for rehearsals, sessions, and Sunday mornings.

Have questions about how this 110ce-S stacks up against other Taylors or your current acoustic? Call (888) 794-8482 and talk with one of us in the shop. We are players first and we will shoot you straight.

The Lowdown

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

Torrefaction is a controlled roasting process that effectively ages the spruce before it ever leaves the factory. It drives out moisture and tension in the wood so the top responds more like a well played, older guitar. You hear quicker response, a warmer and sweeter overall voice, and a smoother top end compared to a standard new spruce top. And because it is solid, it will keep opening up the more you play it.
The Grand Auditorium is Taylor’s do it all body. Compared to a dreadnought, you still get plenty of low end for big open chords, but the mids and highs are more focused and balanced. That makes it great for fingerstyle, lead lines, and situations where you need the guitar to sit in a mix without overpowering vocals. It is also a bit more comfortable to hold, especially for long rehearsals and services.
Layered sapele has its own advantages. You still get the punchy, mid-forward character of sapele, but the layered construction is more resistant to humidity swings and travel abuse than many solid wood backs and sides. Paired with the solid torrefied spruce top, you get a rich, reliable tone that is far less temperamental on the road or in changing climates. It is a smart choice for a working acoustic-electric at this price point.
The ES2 system is designed for exactly what most players need: plug into a PA, acoustic amp, or interface and get a natural, feedback resistant tone fast. It captures more of the top’s movement than a typical undersaddle pickup, so your plugged in sound stays closer to what you hear unplugged. With basic onboard controls and a strong output signal, it is a reliable, no drama setup for live use and recording.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 14-Day Return Policy. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
If you order before 3 PM CST on a weekday, it ships the same day. We’ll get it into your hands fast with free, insured 2-3 day shipping.
