Airy Hollowbody Warmth With Vintage 594 Soul

This PRS McCarty 594 Hollowbody II 10-Top is what happens when you blend a featherweight jazz box, a vintage LP, and classic PRS precision into one guitar. At just 6 pounds, it rings, blooms, and sustains in a way you feel in your chest as much as you hear in your ears.

Fully-hollow maple and mahogany construction gives you that warm, woody air on every note, while the McCarty 594 DNA keeps the response tight, focused, and inspiring under your fingers. Fire Red Burst over a ridiculous 10-Top and matching back means it looks as serious as it sounds.

Fully-Hollow 10-Top Body With Singing Resonance

The hollow maple/mahogany/maple body is the secret sauce here. You get that open, vocal midrange and quick acoustic response that makes chords bloom and single notes feel almost vocal.

The 10-Top maple on both the top and back is the good stuff: deep figuring, tight grain, and a fast, lively attack. The violin carve and Fire Red Burst finish are pure PRS eye candy, but they are built on a platform that is all about tone and resonance first.

Pattern Vintage Neck That Feels Broken In From Day One

The mahogany Pattern Vintage neck hits that sweet spot between chunky and comfortable. It fills your hand enough to feel solid and stable, but never fights you when you dig into bends or long sessions.

The 24.594″ scale length helps the strings feel a touch slinkier, with a slightly softer attack and extra sweetness on the top end. A 10″ radius rosewood board with faux bone binding, 22 frets, and classic PRS birds keeps everything feeling smooth, fast, and familiar.

58/15 LT TCI Pickups: From Lush Humbuckers To Glassy Single-Coils

The 58/15 LT pickups are PRS at their best: low-turn, vintage-leaning humbuckers that stay clear and musical no matter what you plug into. The TCI process dials in the capacitance and inductance so each position feels balanced, rich, and usable.

Dual volume, dual push/pull tone controls, and a 3-way toggle on the upper bout give you a full palette. Thick, singing humbucker tones, chimey and articulate coil-split sounds, and everything in between are right there on the guitar, without needing a pedal dance.

Bridge, Nut, Tuners: Everything That Touches The String

Paul says it all: everything that touches the string is God. That is why this McCarty 594 Hollowbody II gets a PRS two-piece zinc bridge, a properly cut bone nut, and vintage-style tuners.

The result is longer sustain, rock-solid tuning, and a tone that has more character and harmonic detail. Notes start with a clear, defined attack, then bloom into a rich, complex sustain that makes you want to hang on to every phrase.

The Lowdown

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

Think of this as more open and airy than a typical 335-style semi-hollow. The fully-hollow body gives you more acoustic bloom, quicker attack, and a little more air around each note, while the 594 heritage keeps the low end tight and the mids focused. It still rocks hard, but cleans and edge-of-breakup tones have a sweetness and dimension you do not get from a center-block guitar. If you love the idea of a 335 but want more nuance and PRS-level consistency, this hits that sweet spot.
At sane band volumes, it behaves really well. You get all the hollowbody resonance without uncontrollable howl, especially if you are not parking right in front of a 100-watt stack. Push it into louder gain and you can coax controlled feedback when you want it by moving closer to the amp. Treat it like a good jazz box or semi-hollow and you will be right at home on stage.
In humbucker mode you get rich, vintage-flavored tones with clear highs, chewy mids, and a tight but musical low end. Roll the volumes back and they stay articulate instead of turning to mud. Pop the push/pulls and the single-coil tones are glassy and open, perfect for funk, worship, and rootsy clean parts. Between the controls and your picking hand, this guitar can cover most of a night by itself.
The Pattern Vintage carve has some meat to it, but it is very ergonomic. It is round and supportive rather than a huge clubby shape, so your thumb and wrist are not fighting it. Players with smaller hands are usually surprised by how comfortable it feels after a few minutes. If you like a neck that feels solid and helps you dig in, this profile delivers without being excessive.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 72-Hour Love-It Guarantee. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
If you order before 3 PM CST on a weekday, it ships the same day. We’ll get it into your hands fast with free, insured 2-3 day shipping.
